Can the eVic VTC Mini's firmware be upgraded to the eVic VTwo Mini's firmware ?

Just wondering if the eVic VTC Mini can be loaded with the latest VTwo Mini software?

I would like to have the clock display that my new VTwo Mini has if it can be loaded into my old VTC Mini.

Or are the chips different?

Not sure, but the VTwo must have an internal clock battery.
It will keep the time without a battery in it.

The lack of battery is an issue but there may be other features that the OG VTC's PROM/EPROM/whatever can't access.
If you don't mind possibly bricking the VTC, try it. Most likely a failure can be corrected by flashing a downgrade/re-upgrade to factory VTC firmware.
Some users surprised, or just plain ...... off JTech last year attempting mix-n-match between the VTC and Cuboid. All updates since probably check a hardware ID to prevent that now. But maybe not.

While it won't solve the back-up battery issue... the newest iterations of NFE and another (name?) 3rd party creation have both a clock face and various other otherwise unavailable features. When I get my lappy back up and running, I'll be seeing what they have myself.

so far i like this firmware a lot. i've been spending most of my time with my dna 75 but this upgrade has me loving my mini again.
