So, I got my batteries and cartridges from Blu today. They were free due to an issue that I had with one of their retailers, however they didnt come with a charger. So, I bought 2 little usb chargers from discount vapers for pretty cheap. Did alot of reading and what not and more often than not it says the chargers that I got are compatible with the blu batteries. When I first got them in, I took the charger, plugged it into my computer with the battery attached, and it worked. About 5 minutes later, i started smelling this burnt smell, and the charger was really hot. The battery still works, and the charger too. I also smelt the other one that came with it, it smells the same as the one that i plugged into the computer. So I was wondering, could this be because they are brand new? Im really nervous about trying it again, dont want something to go terribly wrong. Im not too concerned about the blus to go spend 13 on one of their chargers, considering the fact what I got was free, and they are used as a backup to my backups. Any suggestions?

Im not sure that this could be because its new. Im thinking of other usb chargers that Ive owned and I havent experienced a burning smell from them becuase they are new. It sounds like it could be just the quality of the charger. I suppose you could try using them again and see if you get the same results, but you may want to be careful since it sounds like the charger is over heating. If it is, you could damage your computer or worse start a fire

My suggestion is not to plug them into your computer again, if you do it at all. Use an A/C adapter like your phone might have. What is the ma output of the charger? Little stick batteries, like the Blu, shouldn't be charged at a rate of more than about 150ma. You might have an ego type charger with a 420ma output. They are compatible only in the sense that the connections fit. Did you notice they charged in about no-time-flat? That would explain them getting hot.

Of course, my REAL advice is to just forget the Blu altogether. Other than the juice, they suck out loud anyway.

Honestly, I havent even checked the output for either of them. Blu ended up giving me a store credit for $39.95, and instead of purchasing the disposable kit, we purchased 2 batteries and a pack of flavor. I had read in several different places that a 510 charger was compatible. I did a search through google for chargers compatible with blu batteries and came to discount vapers site, with cheap usb chargers, so thats what i went for. Not a big fan of blu, however my husband REALLY enjoys their peach schnapps flavor!

Ya, I thought it was probably the battery heating up instead of the charger. The charger is putting too much power into the battery. It may be defective or it may have the wrong amp output rating. Either way, that's why it's heating up. Don't try it again. It will do the same thing. And it can get real nasty fast!

Well, at 120ma (not mah, I don't know why chargers are advertised that way) it is definitely not too high an output for a normal stick type battery. But whether Blu is a "normal" battery is an unknown to me. Johnson Creek makes the juice for Blu. It might not be EXACTLY the same, but it might be worth seeing if you can get that flavor from their website. Then you won't have to put up with Blu just to get a decent flavor. If good juice tastes good in a Blu, mediocre juice will taste just as good using a decent ecig.

Just an update to what happened & for anyone who might think what I did was a good idea, It didnt work. I put the the batteries on the chargers (they were both dead) Had one plugged to the computer, and one to the tablet. They seemed to be charging find, werent getting as hot as the first one did. My husband unplugged his from the tablet, attached the cartridge, and nothing happened. So, something went wrong & it completely messed up the batteries.
On the plus side, These were completely free to us, and also found out that totally wicked has a peach schnapps flavor which is hopefully sold here at the local store, if not, we will be ordering it. It is a good tasting flavor.
Thanks for all of the advice guys!
