Soooo.. ..ive been vaping for a few months now. When I started I jumped straight in with an ego and worked up from there.(currently vaping on an mvp2 with various drippers and davide bdc) anyways I never tried the blu's or any of the cigalikes. So on a whim I bought one yesterday......jesus! It is supposed to be menthol..it tastes like burnt pastry? Like a burnt pizza crust. That thing is absolutely nasty. I know taste is subjective, but those things should be pulled from the market. I could see those things turning people off from vaping..so nasty. Anyone else had this kind of experence with the cigalikes?

I got the blu kit on my 3rd time out trying to quit smoking I had issues with the battery not lasting but couldn't return it as lost my receipt so I don't like the blu and the cartridges are all nasty. You are better off buying empty cartridges or a tank and filling them yourself. The only ejuice that I have gotten is from V2 and would not recommend that company..I use a company called Vapor4life and the flavors are pretty good..Great customer service. But I'm looking into others also..I use a provari with a protank 2 now and love it..My other stuff were all automatic batteries. Just don't get a v2 battery as they are not the greatest either..

I would hate to see that price. Big tobacco has definitely got its fingers in there somewhere...

BLU were bought out 2 years ago by Lorillard (the company who make Newport cigarettes)

"In April 2012, Lorillard purchased privately held electronic cigarette company, blu ecigs, for $135 million in cash, marking the first foray by the tobacco industry into the electronic cigarette market. The e-cigarette company had about $30 million in revenue in 2010, with blu ecigs sold in more than 13,000 retail outlets, including Walgreens and Sheetz"

I started with Blu and in the beginning it was ok but starting about a year ago the quality control on filling the cartomizers properly went straight down hill. Every carto tasted burnt. I would take the carto apart and what do you know, barely any juice, filler dry as a bone.

The company that makes Newport (Lorillard Tobacco) owns Blu. My thought is when vaping started becoming popular they purposely starting dropping the quality of the Blu cartos so people wouldn't like them and continue to smoke. I wouldn't be surprised.

BTW the juice in Blu is made by Johnson Creek Smoke Juice you can buy it any time.

Blu was the first I ever tried and I completely agree with you - I was a menthol smoker so naturally I went for the Menthol Blu and I actually still have one laying around. For the heck of it I went ahead and took a ?drag of it. I must say the vapor it produces is very impressive but the taste?? OMW tastes like dirty menthol...only way I can describe it.

After I tried Blu I went straight to Njoy Kings and I will still says that those are one good disposable (heavy on the wallet I think they're like $7 a piece) and then of course after that I made the mistake of going online and googling "best electronic cigarette" so I ended up with a V2 starter kit. I don't think v2 is a bad company at all -- battery lasted about 6-7 months and I was using it ALL the time and their menthol is not a bad juice either. Just glad that I upgraded about 2 months in!

Like so many others, I started with Blu. Stephen Dorff told me to, after all, and I figured The Dorff wouldn't lie. :p

I was neither averse nor crazy about the "Magnificent Menthol" I chose to replace my 1.5 pack-a-day Salem Lights habit. It was OK. Definitely not "magnificent", but not terrible either. I only lasted a couple of weeks on them, quickly realizing that I wasn't getting enough "oomph", so I went the Halo route, and here I am with my lovely Triton VV - and soon to go the mod route.

I still have one new Blu menthol carto, and both my batteries and PCC still work just fine. If you can call 90mAh batteries "fine". Even my little G6 batteries kick their butts.

But taste being as subjective as it is, combined with the fact that a person's tastes change over time, I don't think Blus really turn off that many people to vaping outright. I bet it most often happens like it did for me. Tried them, found them to be OK, then soon after wanted something better. I'm no Blu advocate, but if my guess is correct, then I do feel appreciation for Blu helping to get people off analogs.

Blu is a gateway vape. And we do need gateway vapes, don't we? :)
