BUMMED!! What am I doing wrong? eGo-T Manual On/Off

Well I am bummed. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Battery charged and ready to go.

Manual on/off button. Wishing I had ordered automatic?

Push 5 times. See light blinking. Draw. Nothing. Push 5 times (again) see light blinking. Draw. Nothing.

How does one know if the battery is on or off if the light always blinks?

On a positive note - I ordered my eGo-T in pink and it is fabulously pretty.

And - yes. I did add juice to the tank.

When you push the button to take a draw, the button will light up as you hold it down. If it doesn't, you need to do the 5 quick button pushes again to turn the battery on. If you're not getting vapor with the light coming on, something else is wrong. I have a regular Ego, so I'm not too familiar with the Ego-T...but it could be a bad atomizer or the tank is installed wrong. Maybe someone familiar with the T will chime in. Good luck.

Do as the above post says. Push the button down to take a draw. The button must be pushed in to take a draw. If the button is blinking when you are taking a draw then either one of two things are happening. One the battery is turned off inshich case give the button five quick clicks to cut it on. two if you have done that and the battery is still blinking then that means the battery is not charged or if you have just charged them and it is still doing it then you have an issue with the battery. If this is the case then I would get hold of the company you bought them from tell them what is going on and sent them back for an exchange

Yes after 5 quick pushes on the button to turn it on , if you push on the button , momentarily (1 or 2 seconds) and the light comes on , the device is unlocked , and ready to use . 5 more clicks , and it's off etc , etc . And yes , once it's on , hold down the button , and take your toot . Release , when your done . And FYI , You can buy a low Resistance atty. for the tank , and cartomizers , work very well , with that pv , as well . Just a few more options to explore . Keep on vaping .

Ok - the unit is working. Nice! Press down the button -hold down- to take a draw and light stays on. Press 5 times, hold down button - nothing. "Off."

Now I need to work on how to get those great plumes of vape. My vape is kinda sparse.

Taste is a bit icky. Not really any worse than that an analog smoke. I may fire one up this morning and I bet I think my eGo taste better...even with this primer after taste.

Hey GoGoDakota...

Fellow Hill Country person...Cool! On to your comments.

I'm pretty new at this...only a week with my Ego (see my Hi Y'all post in this forum), but here's what I have learned.

The "icky" taste...depends on just how icky. I find that vaping does leave a different aftertaste than an analog. I don't particularly find it "icky" just different. Some people also get a bit of cottonmouth from vaping. Drink more water. If the aftertaste is distictly "plastic", the wick to your atomizer may be dry. I find it's possible to vape too quickly for the cart to keep up. give the PV a pause before you do another hit.

Volume of vapor...I also do not find my vapor volume is like what I see on youtube, but I don't let it bother me too much. as long as the hit feels reasonably good and tastes good I just let it go.

I don't know how close you are to Roundrock, but there's a store there called All About Vapor. They sell Joye products and are a great source of help. Even if you didn't get your stuff there, go check them out and ask for assistance. They'll set you on the right path. Then buy some juice or some spare parts for your PV from them as a thanks.

Yep...gonna be another hot one today. The weather guessers are saying no chances of rain for another week at least...

I am using menthol. I can taste a primer taste. Kind of a tin-metalish taste. Maybe, it is that dry burn I see mentioned here in the forums?

I think the flavor will get better as some suggest it will. "Seasoning?"

I think e-cigs do have a learning curve. I believe the experience will get better and better.

GOGO, it's too dry. You should never taste metal. Wiggle the plastic tank in the cradle a bit. That might help get some juice flowing, or a flick might do.

When I start a brand new T-atty (which is only when I want to add another PV and flavor to my vaping experience, as I am still using 3 of the same ones for over 2 months now) I blow out the primer, add some drops of pure PG, blow out the T-atty, put in a couple more drops of PG, push button for a couple seconds, blow out, add tank of juice and vape away.

It does take a couple tanks of juice to really get the flavor coming thru rich and with acceptable vapor.

I also make certain on new tanks that I cut that little flap off from the inside after I puncture the hole.

After cutting that off and putting the little cap with the hole back in place, I fill the tanks with a syringe and one of those special blunt tip 14 gauge luer loc needles. No muss, no fuss.

NOTE: I also have used a very fine needle and gently put it a slight way down the inside edge of the T-atty tube where the wick is to open up the flow of juice a bit to the coil. Only a slight poke and only if T-atty seems starved for juice...hence the burnt taste means not enough juice getting to coil.

Oh - I am fairly close to Round Rock! Leander/Liberty Hill.

Didn't know about the Vapor Store. I'll google to see if they have a website. Got to think buying juice is right up there with fabric, yarn, paint...all the hobby stuff I am addicted to buying! LOL

Yeah - those YouTube videos "rock" with the vapor. One of the juices I ordered is an 70/30 blend. Need to read up on that a bit more. Silly me....afraid to go-for-it-all and experiment.

Like my high dollar sewing machine...I am afraid I will tear it up if I use it!!

FEAR NOT!! :vapor:

Yeah...The name of the store is "All About Vapor" and they do have a web site. I don't know if I'm allowed to post links, but google that name and you'll find it. So far, they are the only actual storefront I've found in the Austin area that sells serious e-cig supplies. Every other place I've looked are like the mall kiosks...

I like it so if I need emergency parts for my Ego...atomizers, batteries, juice...etc, I don't have to wait for mail order. Also...take your e-cig with you...they will let you sample juices which I thought was really cool. And their prices aren't much more than online.

Why are you pushing 5 times?

Flashing light usually means low on power OR a short.

Check the threaded connection carefully with a tissue for leaked juice, especially int he circular valley around the battery post.

And some people don't quite screw the battery in far enough when charging to get solid red on the cable so that the green of "charged" actually means something. Or some use a PC as the power source for charging and their PC's power saving settings turn off USB.

If the battery was fully charged and the connections are dry, then you have a faulty unit.

And no - you don't want auto.

Personally I would not recommend cutting the "little flap" or in using syringes around the hole. I think it asks for leaking problems. I'm sure this would not be the case for GoGo, but at my first experience with the tank I failed to fully puncture the plastic cap. (Puncture by inserting fully into atty.) At first puncture, if hard plastic, it takes a bit of effort. But, having failed to make the puncture I wondered for several minutes why the damned think wouldn't vape. But once that problem was solved, I knew it was going to be a suitable substitute for analogs. The tanks beat the carts any day IMO. But leaking can be a pain at times. Welcome to ECF.
