I am certain that this has to have been addressed somewhere, but I can't find anything. We (as a vaping community) can make mods from local sources, if need be, in a crisis situation. (The Puck)

what about atomizers? Now I know there are rba's you can buy, and I am honestly nervous about purchasing one bc I don't own an ohm meter and it seems like you need one to not risk frying any batteries or anything. But I would like to learn, and who knows, it may be essential knowledge as a dripper with no back-stock of atomizers (I have 3, and there are 2vapers who only drip in my household)

So, lets say one does not already own am RBA, they are a dripper, ability to purchase these things is suddenly removed from them for whatever reason.

How do you build one from scratch? With locally available parts (hardware/electronic stores)

this post is not meant to start a will they/won't they FDA debate....I just want to know about a DIY atty.

Thanks in advance for any input :)

If you are a fan of the puck, you could just fit it with an rca connector, and build up from there. Make it fit in a tube and add a couple of posts for the coil and you are in Armageddon heaven.

Anyone ever done a tutorial for building an atty from local sources?

I second the notion of using RCA connectors. The 510 connection uses odd thread sizes.

Here are a few links that I know of:

I'd make a Puck-style battery with a female RCA connector, and use a male RCA connector pressed into a body that unscrews, such as something like this:

There are many other things that could be adapted to this purpose, though. A screw-top pill carrier comes to mind for a bigger option.

Lots of ideas! Ok running these by The Other Half for her electrical/mechanical brain-power input and will come back with our own results :)

ETA: alright after looking at the links, unless I am missing something, they all seem to start with an old cartomizer or atomizer as the "base part" of the rebuildable. What could be used instead of that cartomizer piece? (Or did someone address that and I missed it?)

I see using an RCA jack as a housing, but does that *create* the atomizer? Remember I have never worked with an RBA in the first place so my knowledge is limited.

ETA(again): Wait...upon re-reading it looks like they are indeed making the actual atomizer out of the RCA jacks, and the cartomizer is only mentioned bc the are vaping with a cartomizer. So I would disregard the cart bc I am a dripper...correct me if I am wrong. Back to reading.

Right on. Actually, I would use RCA connectors instead of the 510 connectors from the old hardware, if I ran out of old hardware (fat chance.) Female on the battery side, for safety. They fit securely enough for me, and should be able to handle the current fine.

The big housing on the big fancy RCA connectors could be an atomizer body, where you just need to install two connections of some sort for the atomizer coil on the inside, and drill an airflow path somewhere.
