So, I made the switch almost about a year ago and I've noticed that not only did my overall endurance and stamina increased but my muscles looked much more fuller kind of like I blew up a little bit. Which is a good thing, unfortunately I could've made this switch three years ago but I didn't really like the impression of a eGo which is a very popular PV in my city, and personally I didn't like the small amount of vapor coming out of them. I had no idea there were so much more MODS out there, until I vamped on my friends VAMO V2 which was a very good impression. Sure enough my next paycheck went straight to the VAMO V3 after watching more reviews..which I shouldn't have gotten because the 510 center pin connection popped out of the chip within a week of ownership. So then I bought my ProVari v.2.5. ONLY BECAUSE I wanted something that would be DURABLE and my research told me Silver Bullet and Provari were very durable. Call me a fan boy but I am very fortunate for my ProVari and Kayfun (my all day MOD)

Anyways, if I had known about all these different high end MODS, AND SUB OHM I would've been vaping three years ago. For anybody who is into Bodybuilding: figure, bikini, physique, 212, open class etc I would highly recommend they make this switch for it will compliment their physique so much better. For those on the forum please share your experience with how much vaping changed your performance and results from your training and dieting.

Nicotine + bodybuilding = still much better than smoking real cigarettes.
During weight training depending on which muscle you're working, the goal in weight training is to fully contract the muscle (mind to muscle connection) from the positive contract to mid contraction and then the stretched contraction. The reason for that "pump" in the muscle is due to the increased blood flow through that muscle which the fibers are tearing. The blood carries oxygen that were distributed from your lungs. Obviously the more oxygen in your blood flowing through a working muscle leads to a greater "pump" and therefore oxygen also benefits the growth factor of the muscle. Smoking cigarettes lowers the oxygen count in your blood which therefore makes the muscles endurance decrease in overall performance, then the muscle won't look the way it is supposed to and smokers probably think "well I can just take a creatine and Nitric Oxide supplement to help me get a better pump and still smoke cigarettes). NO, they should all just imagine doing all that and either quit or make the switch and just imagine how MUCH BETTER it would be for their results and overall health. Others will argue "so, e-cigs still contain nicotine which still lowers the count in oxygen in your blood" - yes, nicotine in e-liquid still has that effect but not even half as bad as smoking analogs. If they were determined enough they would gradually lower their nicotine level until they like vaping at 0% nicotine or they can know a thing or two about sub ohm vaping using 100% VG with 0 nic. So that is why I made the switch, so i can one day atleast say that I tried my hardest to be an open class competitor in the IFBB (International Federation of Body Builders) - set aside from all the other substances involved in bodybuilding (anabolics will not be discussed in this forum, vaping benefits only)

- You avoid 4000 other toxins from analogs
- there is 100% VG juices (from a good vendor if you find one that you like) which can eliminate the nicotine effect
- Sub ohm vaping with 0 nic can still give you a warm and good enough throat hit (if you build right and find the right e-liquid for you)
- You don't have to blame cigarettes for your plateau (which only exists if you're a natural)
- it's still promoting BETTER health

Thank you for reading and feel free to respond, I would love to read about everyone's experience in how much they performed physically better from making the switch to vaping.:D

I slowed my analogs for a month or two, but had to sell my vape because I was moving back home and it was unnecessary at the moment, and went back to smoking 3 packs a week, but I just got another vape so hopefully I can stop analogs all together and see better improvement after the gym too. Wouldn't be surprised!

I am just starting on my weightlifting journey FYI... I've been quit smoking over a year now and the time is right. I too own a Provari and it is great. I also like the eVic as well.

I'm starting a program for beginners called "Starting Strength." All compound exercises 3 times per week.

Day 1 - Monday (Set A)
3 sets - 5 repetitions = Squats
3 sets - 5 repetitions = Bench Press
1 sets - 5 repetitions = Dead-lift

Day 3 - Wednesday (Set B)
3 sets - 5 repetitions = Squats
3 sets - 5 repetitions = Standing Military Press
3 sets - 5 repetitions = Barbell Rows

Day 5 - Friday (Set A)
3 sets - 5 repetitions = Squats
3 sets - 5 repetitions = Bench Press
1 sets - 5 repetitions = Dead-lift

I'll alternate each week (A,B,A) (B,A,B), etc... I have to add 5 lbs to each lift each time I workout until I plateau... then back-up and get another running start at it until I break the plateau. Repeat as necessary. :)

As well, I'll add in a few curls until I can do real pullups and Dips.

Lastly, I will do a quick vape in between sets for good measure. :)

Hopefully there is more than 2 of us here on the ECF... I bet more than you might think!

Urgh, my free weights and Bowflex (I even have a Soloflex!) have been sitting collecting dust for the past 2 years, too busy doing other stuff! I used to smoke halfway through my routines, and right after I went running. I have absolutely no idea how vaping will effect my workouts, but hopefully things will chill out this summer and I can check it out.:)

Hahaha I've brought my PV in before a couple of times except I wait until the weight training session is over and wash up in the bathroom and fog up the gym's bathroom..and maybe when I'm there alone at night I'll vape in the weight room on my last excercise lol. Take it easy on the squats the most id do is legs twice a week, other than that my legs will be recovering throughout the week. And for your training split I think supplementing BCAA would be very beneficial, and that goes for everyone (if you haven't already)

Great thread!

I really got into working out.. weightlifting, cardio, even yoga (DDPYoga if anyone is interested) .. about a year and a half ago. I've struggled with my weight all my life really, but I had more or less gotten it under control. Then I got on the scale at one point and to my horror I had ballooned back up to over 300 pounds.

In 9 months I had dropped from around 315 to 200 pounds. Feeling great and loving life, but still wasn't able to go for a run. I would lose a lung after half a mile and die around the mile mark. It sucked.

Now I'm vaping. I can run! I run 3 miles to work, 3 miles back. My lungs are still getting better every day, it's insane how much I feel it. I do half an hour on a stationary bike 5 days a week, an hour on the weekends and lately it's felt like nothing. I do a lot of rowing too.. At home on the total gym, at the gym on the rowing machine. And I've noticed a hell of an improvement in my abilities there.

I don't lift a lot.. But I'm going to start very soon. I feel the best I have in my entire life as far as my exercise goes. Overall I've gone from hating to have to run from one side of a field to the other to wanting to run from one side of Las Vegas to the other. Since I've started vaping it's all just become easier.. and keeps getting easier. It's hard to really explain, but damn it feels good.

Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
It's hard enough catching one's breath when one is overweight. Being an obese smoker is a recipe for not being able to exert oneself much at all.

A few years back I went on a gym binge and lifted weights and did the circuit far TOO much. Burned myself out but lost 85 pounds in 6 months....lol

If I hadn't been a smoker, though, I think I could have gone much farther. That and if I'd slowed down on how many hours I spent in the gym. And if they hadn't rearranged the entire gym and stopped being open 24 hours. That really threw me off.

I work out at home, so sneaking in a puff isn't too bad (but I don't do it too much). I'm doing some looking around now about BCAA. Thanks for the tip, it looks promising... Looks like it can also lower blood sugar. Mine could use a little reducing anyway. As far as the squats go, I started at 45lbs, so it should be a while before I have to back off to 2 days per week. Although when the DOMS set in after day 1, I thought I was going to die.... Like the first day after football camp all over again. :)

I hear you on the burning out part, as I have been guilty of over doing stuff in the past (like my vape collection), maybe we all just have addictive personalities??? Anyway, I try to limit what I do to an hour or less per day, and I try to rest at least 1 day a week. (Theoretically).

After all, at 5 minutes per cigarette, and 20 cigarettes per day, that's 100 minutes per day to kill or 700 minutes per week. Heck, I did that for 25 years. :)

Sounds like broscience!

Plenty of IFBB pros do way worse things to their bodies than smoking. Tons of bbers like to use methamphetamine as their preworkout... and want to talk about it or not, are on several grams of gear per week along with the 6ish insulin shots per day and all the synthol injections in their arms and shoulders...

BCAAs are a waste. No recreational lifter working out once per day a few (or every every) days per weeks needs to worry about anything but counting calories and macros, getting a decent amount of micronutrients, and lifting with decent programming that includes progressive overload.

But anyway, this is ECF, not bodybuilding.com ;)

BCAA's are known (as I just researched) to lower blood sugar. More benefit than just keeping the body from robbing the muscle bank. I taks a lot of supplements, so not a big deal to add one that might have a bit of benefit. Especially as cheap as BCAA appears to be.

... and I've been to bodybuilding.com, IMHO there are a lot of nice folks there, with the occasional Weizenheimer... :toast:

Synthol. That's the stuff that makes your muscles swell up, but no additional strength, right? That stuff is crazy stupid.

Where are you in NC? I used to live in Charlotte.

I've been out on injury since I started vaping but the few times I've been able to do a workout I've noticed better breathing. O also liked smoking before and after so I use zero nic hookahs to get over the hump and try to cut my nicotine ate easy an hour before and after since it makes me sweat like no ones business. I am a pole athlete so over perspiring is not beneficial. I thought at one point I had hyperhydrosis but it turns out being jacked up on stimulants was the problem. I have also had to cut my coffee/tea intake for better performance. I'm excited to heal and get back to work, my breathing through difficult lifts and tricks has improved allowing me to actually get more flexible which is hugely important.

I'm also looking forward to the gym again and I was never a gym person. I think I'll be able to see improvements much faster. I hated the gym before because my stamina was awful, with pole work I hold a pose or a trick and catch up. I couldn't do that on the treadmill or when lifting so I'm excited about the possibilities.

Great informative post OP!

Ive noticed as well that cardio exercises has become much easier and feel better endurance, since 1year off cigs. I dont get the momentary winded feeling after walking up a set of stairs..
I vape in the locker room of the gym I go to all the time. I just dont blow clouds, but when I am about to get dressed and see my pv I cant help but to take a vape.. I carry my unit everywhere I go.
