I make my own juice .... so

Back in Jan of this year was the last time I ordered a 500ml bottle of unflavored Nicotine (60 mg Nic strength / 100% PG ) base from My Freedom Smokes. The cost was $29.99 + shipping.

Today I went to order another 500ml bottle of the same Nicotine e-liquid base .... The price has now increased to $44.99 + shipping.

That's a 67% price increase in 9 months !

I live in Florida, and we have no present ban or restrictions on vape products, to include buying unflavored Nicotine e-liquid base.

I wonder why My Freedom Smokes has increased the price so dramatically ?

Have all these vendors selling unflavored Nicotine e-liquid base done the same thing ?

Whats going on here ......

The same thing happened in the UK just before the TPD was implemented. Nicotine prices almost doubled (they never went back to the pre TPD prices after the scare stories stopped).
Everyone's gotta make a buck and now you can be happy that you are helping people to do just that.... Welcome to economics in action. :nah:

Ecigexpress has 1000ml 60mg PG for $48. That is cheaper than MFS before the price increase.

60mg Unflavored Nicotine Base

Edit- if you do buy from ecigexpress, remember to use the discount code ECFforum for 10% off.

I just found some even cheaper 1 liter (1000ml) of 60mg Nic PG base for:

+ $38.99
- .$. 5.85 (15% Off Discount Code: ELRECIPES)
+ $. 8.19 shipping
_________
$41.33 Total

60mg Nicotine Liquid

Nice! I have never heard of that company before.

I personally buy 100mg nic at nicotine river which ends up even cheaper in the long run. With the stronger nic concentration I can make more premix with the same 1000ml of nicotine. They also offer free shipping options which helps. They just don't offer 60mg nicotine, or I would have linked them instead.

Nic is now limited to max 20mg and only in 10ml bottles. Prices can vary between 50p and £3.50 per bottle. Vape shops usually sell it for less if ya buy the short fills. One guy recently told me it was £1 if I bought a short fill and £3 if I didn't. I told him to do one and walked out. To me that's like charging three times the price for a lighter because I didn't buy cigarettes. No smoker would accept that and I don't accept what a lot of vape shops are doing.

Let's do some basic arithmetic: It takes 100 10ml bottles to make a liter. So at £1 per bottle, that's the equivalent of £500 per liter of 100 mg, or £360 per liter of 72mg. Oh and £1 = $1.23.

That should put a bit of perspective on the current prices in the US, as well as the pre-TPD doubling in the UK.

Yep. Ban scares are great for profiteering. Better when they turn out to be false.

It aint cheap but mixing is still cheaper than buying store stuff if you're mixing up to 18mg.
Short fills seem to be the most popular way to buy, around here. It's certainly cheaper than buying 10ml bottles.

TPD never made any sense but folks were mighty relieved that vaping got any sort of reprieve and wasn't outright banned.

Most of there British 'Health care' organisations that now beam out positive messages were vehemently anti vaping prior to the TPD legislation. They all wanted it banned, and they changed their stance immediately after the legislation being introduced. They lost all credibility in my eyes. The vaping 'community' has few friends.

It's still possible to buy 7.2% nicotine in the UK (7.5% is the legal max before it gets classed as a poison and requires a special licence to buy). The site i used to use now requires you to register as a wholesaler to buy anything more than 2%..
The last time i checked you could buy a litre of nic for around £60. Prior to the TPD it was around £30....
And yes, 10ml of 1.8% is generally around £1-£2 to buy from a vape shop/site. 10ml is the legal limit for ready-to-vape liquids. Most sites will sell packs of 3x10ml bottles as a bundle to skirt the ridiculous laws. 3 x the waste to achieve absolutely nothing.

Maximum nic allowed is 20mg but most play safe at 18mg. So 100 10ml bottles at £1 a bottle, is 1 litre of 18mg nic costs £100.

People are panic ordering. If sellers don't jack the price then they'll run out of stock and have nothing left to sell. Do people still not understand how supply and demand works? We've been encouraging everyone to lay in a stock since the Deeming Regulations were released in 2016, so if you're late to the party you have yourself to blame.

Nic would be a bargain at ten times the price. 250mL lasts a me, a cloud chaser, longer than a year. A little bit goes a long way and it can be stored indefinitely.

Fixed that for you. :)

Compared to smoking, yes it would, in more ways than one.

And there's a good chance that people who don't plan ahead will pay much more in the future than it costs now, or has cost in the past.

Take a look at Heartland as well. 1 L for $45 is the same price it's been for years now. Nice product that I mixed with all the time.

Agreed, and of all the regular/popular vendors I liked their 100mg liquid nic best. They offer free shipping on orders over $50. They occasionally run sales on their liquid nic and the last time they did I added several more liters to my stockpile @ $35 per liter (with free shipping).

    sounds like a deal, right?

That's funny and at the same time a bit sad how do they change prices according to the regulations.
Flav. e-liquids are getting banned in US here is an up to 90% off sale.
Unfl. nic. base +60% from the normal price for DIY.
Are flavors more expensive now too?
