Hi,

Just wondering if someone has some recommendations for the best tobacco/Marlboro flavoring that can be obtained online, for adding to flavorless eliquid. And I'd like it concentrated enough so that I can afford to flavor an entire 500ml with one go.

There are so many different ones from different vendors. I've tried a few here and there, but haven't found a really good one yet. What I'm looking for is something that has a tasty, not-too-sweet Marlboro sort of flavor... or just something that really tastes like a good, strong (non-cigar) blend of tobacco.

My most recent try was with TFA's Tobacco Blend, from MyFreedomSmokes, and I'm really disappointed in it. It tastes NOTHING like cigarettes or tobacco, in my opinion.

Any recommendations?

I'd like to have the recipe NJoy uses. I got a free sample and damned if I know how they got it to taste like a Malboro Red. Unfortunately at $9 a pop for something that lasts half a day is not in the cards so; You can try one drop of TA dilute per 5mls of juice mixed with Maxx blend at a starting point of 5%. I do 50/50 PG/VG but you can use whatever ratio you like. Let it steep or you'll get wet dog.

Do you want something that tastes like burning tobacco or something that smells like a fresh pack of cigs?

Either/or... Not picky really... Just noticed that I enjoy ecigs more when they have a hint of real cigarette taste, when I tried a sample of want2vape's 555.5. The only problem I have with want2vape is that they want $20 for 30 milliliters and suggest a concentration of 20%... meaning that 30ml wouldn't go very far. I want something (hopefully) a lot more affordable, but still good.

Hi, not sure what you mean by "let it steep"... Not new to ecigs... been vaping for almost 3 years now... but I'm new to DIY flavoring since I've vaped flavorless juice almost exclusively for those years.

Almost all tobacco flavors need to steep, or age. Just place in a dark cool place. Pull them out ever so often, give 'em a shake, do a taste test if you wish.

I don't do tobacco flavors, but a lot of the posters here recommend minimum 2 weeks to a month for steeping (aging) time.

BTW, if you want a tobacco flavor you can vape right after you make it, try the TFA flavor Double RY4. I make it for my sister with 10% Double RY4, 2% Caramel, & 5% Ethyl Maltol. I make it, shake it, and give it to her to vape it. She loves it.

I did some research on Virginia fire cured and I don't see it in just a flavoring, its pre-mixed juice right?

This thread is about DIY not e-juice, right? I also am looking for a good tobacco tasting flavor, not pre-mixed juice. Having trouble kicking the real cigs, still smoke about 1/2 pack a week. Thinking maybe if I vaped a tobacco flavor I might have better luck. Right now all I DIY is fruit and vanilla w/no tobacco.

If I were to recommend one, it would be Hangsen Ry1 from ecigexpress, 1 drop per ml of base....

I highly suggest you DON'T plan on mixing 500ml of one flavor. For one thing, there are countless flavors to choose from, and your taste will change over time and from day to day. Mixing that much of a single flavor for your own personal use can be a costly mistake. :)

As for which flavor is the best (or most realistic), that's a question that is pretty much impossible to answer. Everyone's tastes are vastly different, and it's almost impossible to convey a taste through words, even when two people find them similar. I would recommend that you just start buying small samples of the more commonly mentioned flavors, and find some you like.

With that said...

My favorite "tobacco flavors" so far are the VZ SC flavors, mixed at around 12 drops per 10ml... particularly VFC, HFC, and Parliament. Their others are also very good, but I keep coming back to these three. If you want something more harsh, try the Real Cig. For something that is very dry and "grassy" tasting, try the Burly.

Everyone seems to rate the Hangsen RY1 high on the list, but I just can't get much from it. It seems to have a decent taste, but I can't get enough flavor out of it no matter what concentration I try. (I haven't had much luck with the other Hangsen's I've tried either, although they usually get very good reviews).

My best recommendation for a place to start would probably be VZ Parliament; then try Real Cig for more harshness, or VFC for something that is milder/sweeter .

Edit:

I just loaded up a new CE6 with some RY1 that I've had sitting around for a couple of weeks. It now tastes like a very mild and smooth tobacco with a decent helping of peanut butter. :D

It's a good flavor (although still weak), but I definitely wouldn't consider it a realistic tobacco flavor.

I really envy you guys who can enjoy their tobacco flavors at <5%. I have to mix mine around 10% to get the 'in your face' flavor I want. Maybe I use a lot of flavoring because I smoked a very strong cigarette once upon a time or, maybe it's because the flavoring (Tobacco Express) is weak? These are the first & only DIY flavorings I've used. I'm thinking it's prolly just my preference for a very strong flavor. I mean, is there really much difference in the concentration of the various tobacco flavorings? Ideas?

May 5th I mixed my 1st tobacco flavors, as of today they are not that good. I am hopeing after 2-3 wks they'll get better. I made all 5ml batches just incase I had to toss them.

Mtype Premium (TFA)
555 Type DK C(TFA)
Virginia Fire-Cured (SM)
The 4th batch I made I used 2 drops each of the above flavors

3 have a unpleasent smell, the Vir. Fire Cured batch doesn't have much of a smell or taste so I added 4 more drops to the 5ml batch
