I'm sure you guys have seen many of these threads already, but I see that you are very helpful to newbies, so I'll try my luck! :p

I was introduced to e-cigs by a friend that owns a e-cig review website.
I was doing to settle for a V2cig but after a bit of research, I determined that V2cig are overpriced.

That said, I saw that there was a company called Bloog that is very well reviewed, as well as Vapor4Life. From what I got, they both carry the KR808D-1 designs. Is there a difference between the two? Bloog does not ship to Canada anymore, and Happy-Vaper does not seem to carry any pre-filled cartomizers... I also saw some mentions of Nhaler. On their website, they say that the KR808D-1 is the second best 2 piece but they didn't mention which one is best :(

What is the easiest and best way to start on e-cigs if I'm from Canada?
I like the 2 piece design because of ease of use, I am not ready to fill my own stuff yet though...

Thank you for your help!

KR808D-1 is the best 2-piece
Basic KR808D-1 (sold at many multibrand hardware vendors), or in colors at Vapor4Life, similarly the MaxxFusion at Bloogplanet, and V2 are all KR808D-1 threaded.

And most people here use and recommend manual batteries, Bloog does not offer manual batteries.

In the US the fat battery long-charge models are LeCig's PigCig, CigEasy's Elegant Easy, and the Kanger-made version of VGO (Kanger is is what the KR in KR808D-1 stands for)

Vapor4Life has prefilled and nice blank cartos. I don't know about Canada. I recommend you get your 5 non-spam posts or replies in New Members and then about an hour later you should be able to post in the Canada section of ECF.

IMO another nice 2-piece mini, a bit longer, would be Joye 510 mega xl manual batteries w/ blank Boge 510 cartos (you need the standard resistance ones). The big benefit is manual 510 is totally sealed metal on the threaded end. So it would be very hard for a carto leak to damage or kill a battery. I don't know if you have any decent prefilled 510 cartos in Canada but in the US there are few.

And just FYI - prefilled is just a very small convenience and not even a convenience if you find you don't like the flavor. Cartos are not particularly cost efficient if you don't keep them damp with eliquid. If you keep a carto damp then you can expect to get 4-7 days decent use out of one and sometimes more.

I have a manual and an auto from V2. Also have 2 manuals from V4L. The V2s are more expensive, but they look better and have a lifetime warranty. Both perform the same, but it's nice to have an auto from time to time, although the autos are too heavy to have a "real cig in my hand" type of feel. If my V4L craps out after a few months I'll have to throw another $15 for a battery. Here's the kicker though, V2 takes FOREVER to ship sometimes and they have gotten my order wrong twice already.

If you're new to it and want to try it out you can't go wrong ordering from V4L. Fast shipping, and so far after a couple months, the manual batteries are still running strong.

You'll soon find that the biggest issue is finding a flavor or juice you like and your tastes will change. Get some hardware and dive in, it's a learning process until you settle on something you like (I'm still new myself).

I've settled (for now) on the KR808D-1 with blank cartos and mainly fill with Vapor Station tobacco juices.

Most ripoff rebranders don't sell manual batteries. You can get a KR808D-1 manual battery for $10 in the US at LiteCigUSA.net. Not sure what Canada charges. I think Happy Vaper has them. Buy manual batteries - they are likely to last longer since they are not so vulnerable to damage by juice. They give more control of your hit. And they will not turn on accidentally from wind or vibration.

Get your 5 non-spammed posts/replies in new members and an hour later you could ask in the Canada section about where you can get the best price in Canada, where you can get prefilled cartos, etc.

There will be difference in quality for sure. My V2s do feel sturdier (the manual button in particular) although I believe I've read here about members getting bad batteries from them. Really if you're starting out, you can't go wrong with a supplier who has good pricing, a good reputation for fast shipping, and great customer service. A KR808D-1 isn't going to vary that much. Good luck and let us know what you decide on!

Unfortunately, you're going to have to order nic-juice from the states. Can't get it here (from what I understand).

That being said, after you've finished your 5 cartos, you really should consider filling them up yourself. I don't think it's that hard (haven't tried it myself). And there's plenty of tips here in the forum.

I think I'll go for some Vapor Kings (Vapor4Life) since they ship to Canada.
I still haven't decided between the starting kits and the flavors.... Any recommendations? I smoke Benson&Hedge, dislike the chemical sweetness of DuMaurier (Canada). I like full-bodied tabacco flavours. However, when I smoke Shisha, I like to have a strong taste of fruit.

Anyone with experience with Vapor4Life had success with requesting one manual and one automatic? The Vapor King Value Kit seems to be very well priced.

Also, are the NIC juice only concentrated nic? Then I can mix up with some other flavourings? (Happy Vaper carries a ton of flavours)

If you like fruit, I'd recommend the Wow Fruit Punch from V4L. As always, I strongly recommend the Wow Coffee, Pancake, Peppermint and Black Licorice flavors too.

I don't know about the auto/manual battery request but it doesn't hurt to ask. They're very good about customer service issues so it may be fine with them.

The juices are a mixture of nicotine, pv and vg plus flavoring. They don't sell plain unflavored nic juice but you can get that from MyFreedomSmokes and a few other vendors. (I'm sure someone will chime in with recommendations soon.)

Good luck!

Cartos has a limited lifespan. If you keep a carto damp with eliquid then you may get 4-7 days good use out it, sometimes more. If you run them dry you can singe the stuffing and ruin the flavor of that carto. If you keep it damp until its performance is not good enough, some people have success with resurrecting them by cleaning and drying them but I recommend you not count on being about to do that until you have succeeded at doing it yourself. There are also other kinds of cartos like reservoir types and clear reservoir types you could experiment with (and I say experiment because they can crack, fall apart, etc)

I can tell you one thing, ordering from the US when from Canada , make sure you are in no hurry, the 6 to 10 days of USPS priority service is more a suggestion than a reality !!! and vendors cant really be blamed for it, its all about Canadian customs.

And i see you are from Montreal, I'm from that area as well and i can also tell you there are no reliable vendors yet in Montreal, which i find a bit sad. I'll wish you good luck and happy vaping
