Hey everyone,

I have been vaping for quite awhile, and have always just been casually into the hobby and pretty consistent with the same mods and juice for years. Its just been recently that Ive decided to really get more in depth with everything and now it seems the vape world has exploded from where it was when I started.

So I have used the exact same juice mixture of Cherry 50/50 pg/vg mix for years. And for the past couple of months Ive had to clear my throat often cause it feels like theres phlim build up. And I just read that VG can cause this? So that makes me wonder, if I were to switch to 100% PG would this phlim build up go away? Would it be a drastic change for me if I were to switch to 100% pg?

And can anyone recommend some really good 100% PG juices for me to try? Thanks!

EDIT** Probably should have posted this in General e-liquid Discussion, huh?

PG allows more of the throat hit from the nicotine to come through and allows more of the flavor from the flavoring to come through. VG mutes both flavor and throat hit to a degree. For many, the "muting" is not that significant but from my experience I can tell a difference but not enough to not use VG. Some people have some level of allergic reactions to PG. I haven't vaped VG long enough to know about the phlim question.

Janty is one of the oldest suppliers of eliquid and has loyol customer base. Their Classic Series RY4 in PG is one of the best IMO. Also their Elixir Series Kent flavor is one of the smoothes tobacco flavors around. But eliquid likes/dislikes are too subjective to make any meaningful suggestions. I also like Heather's Heavenly Vapes eliquids.

Good luck.

Due to a couple of health problems I found I can not tolerate VG at more than 5%-10% as it makes it difficult for me to breathe. This is a hard to fill order with most juice suppliers so I just order 100% PG where I can and dilute it myself with VG. Even doing this though I also notice if I get real busy at work and don't drink enough water that I still have a few problems particularly having to clear my throat. Might try increasing your fluid intake and see if this helps you also.

I've had to give up on a couple of suppliers as they only mix higher VG % so my favorite juice vendor right now is vapedudes.com which does offer 100% PG juice. I like these guys but beware of their shipping times as my last order took almost 2 weeks to get to me. Not a problem as I usually keep a month's supply on hand for steeping anyway but wanted to forewarn you in case you are running low.

Forgot to mention to check for a 40% off discount on your first order with this supplier too. Great way to try a lot of different flavors.

Good luck.

That about covers it....I have trouble vaping high percentage VG due to phlegm, also. I have found that 15% is about the max I can tolerate and not notice the "syrupy" cloying sensation in my throat and sinuses. It can get very unpleasant, causing incessant coughing and a feeling of choking. PG does deliver a stronger feeling TH and the flavor is much more clear (for me). Some say that PG has nothing to do with it. I beg to disagree. For ME it certainly does! As far as my vaping is concerned...the ONLY reason I'd have any VG in my juice at all is to boost vapor production. "Pure" PG still produces very good vapor, however...I used it almost exclusively for 10 months after I discovered how much I disliked VG and as far as I'm concerned, the vapor is copious.

The only catch to the pure PG e-juice is if you have a PG sensitivity. A scant 3% seem to have that trouble. It's hard to know how you'll react unless you try, I guess. Personally, I think the PG does far more justice to my juice flavor. YMMV.

Some people are allergic to PG. I don not use much PG in my juice but I hear that you get an increase of flavor. I do know that the higher the PG the less visible vapor you get so if you need to do a stealth vape higher PG will make that easier. I have a friend that got real sick from a PG reaction. I tend to keep mine low.

80/20 PG/VG is what works for me, and most vendors can accomodate that ratio. When I went to 75/25 PG/VG, the phlegm came right back.

Try ECBlends, KickBassVapor, Highbrow Vapor. I think Heather's Heavenly Vapes and Alice in Vapeland also can accomodate ratios.

Also, check your toiletries, most everything has PG in it and you can overload your system. I now use everything I put on my bod without PG added.
