Well my youngest was born with CLD and needed oxygen for the first 6 months of her life( not vape/smoke related she was a premmie)... so I didn't want to risk it. IMO generally speaking it shouldn't be a problem, but we really don't know.. And during a babies developmental period my opinion would be its better to be safe.

With that being said.. vapor travels differently and dissipates quicker than smoking.. and I would imagine no worries vaping while the child is in the same room, but would hesitate while carrying the baby.

Keep in mind no-one is an expert here, and if you have a concern either go with your gut or ask a health professional for advice. Besides it doesn't take much effort in taking extra precautions, even if it could be unnecessary.

Well ask yourself whats more important, vaping or your newborn infant that has not developed their immune system yet?
Just me but why take any chances, I would be washing my hands and limiting exposure to my child (as I did when my princess was newborn) from anything potentially of concern. Especially if handling juices with ANY nic content and it's associated items that could be exposed to it.
But thats just me, your child, your household, its up to you.
I would do it in another room and would safer with that compared to tobacco.
I work at a children's hospital and see people driving in with babies and children of all ages and they are smoking with the windows up all the time.

Thank you all for your opinions. .
I never vape while holding/carring my baby, always about 4 or more meters away. .
I am very carefully with e-juice. If i somehow should get something on my skin, i wash it away with sope directly. .

Pollution outside is proparly more damaging for a baby. .

Once again, thank for youre feedback:)

I'm really old school. My mother smoked and drank alcohol while she was pregnant with me. I was a month early and still strong and healthy. Not saying it was a good idea but I am saying I think we go a little overboard in the other direction at times. I think Your fine as long as your not spraying your exhaust all over the child. Vapor is heavier then smoke it falls more quickly. So be sure to keep your floors well cleaned.

Me too and ate coffee grounds by the spoonful as I understand it. My family lives into the 80's & 90's unless we die by accident. I believe most of what we hear today is just fear mongering and we love to be scared and paranoid these days for some reason. The media makes big money keeping the drama alive.

I just figure why take chances with an infant?
Not trying to be a fear mongerer,I peronally just wouldnt do it.I dont think its a huge deal to step away for a moment and grab a vape.

I'm not saying vape into the kids face all the time, but it's interesting that we find it totally acceptable to strap them into an internal combustion engine vehicle and sit in traffic. Not to mention the thousands of other things we subject ourselves to on a daily basis. The things we fixate on as being bad (or not) just blows me away sometimes.

My 5 month old grandson is kept away from the analog smoke (several in the family still smoke outside), but us vapers do it in the house - never while holding him or in close proximity. We are also very careful about washing our hands in order to play/pick up/or feed the baby, regardless of who you are.

My son and daughter-in-law are very cautious with their little man...sounds like you are too. Nothing wrong with that and I applaud your efforts to provide a safer environment for your baby. They need a good foundation of health and strong immune system in order to survive in this world of ours.

i dunno, i'm really old school too so i vape even while holding my best friend/roomate's newborn since she was like 4 days old, i wouldn't blow it in her face, cause that's just rude. But very worst case scenario is the anti-microbial aspects of the PG would keep germs away. other than that, recently, she thinks the light is neat and when i blow the vape out she giggles. I guess that means her eyes are starting to work.

I am starting to believe societies desire to protect are children are destroying them.

For example, our extremely high levels allergies, asthma, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis can be directly traced to our cleanness – For the past 50 years we have not let are children get dirty and thus we have destroyed our immune response systems. I have even read studies being done that show that we really need to be exposed to hookworms that early exposure to hookworms help build a healthy immune systems and now doctors are infecting people with them in order to treat these types autoimmune illnesses.

My mother in the late ‘40s was ordered to drink beer while she was pregnant, she also smoked. I was just reading THE KID by Dan Savage about a gay couple’s open adoption. It seemed the street punk who was there child’s biological mother drank fairly moderately during pregnancy. The straight couples who were desperate for a child when offered this one rejected him because his mother drank – and even this gay couple consulted the leading expert on fetal alcohol syndrome and was assured that there was no evidence that moderate drinking had any negative effect on the child – and still they hesitated to take the child – for after all the modern mantra is ‘Why risk it?”.

All of you who are advising ‘Why risk it’ and telling a Mother to step outside to smoke or vape – not really having any proof that the cause harm, also have no idea of the psychological harm that a child might suffer by a parent abruptly abandoning them for brief periods of time many times a day to run outside either. You do not know whether a parent who remands with a child while suffering under the stress of nicotine withdrawal and being thus a little more angry, stiff and withdrawing is causing psychological harm either.

Twenty something’s are not leaving home nowadays – they as a whole are more dependent and less self assured then any generation before. They have been made that way by loving parents who have done everything they could to protest them.

We really need to stop doing that. But myself, being a parent of a 20 something who has severe allergies and not left home and who has always been kept clean and overprotective does not know how to to that.
