That's a clone bro. Authentic Tugboats go for $75+ online, and online prices are always cheaper than at vape shops. If they sold it to you for $30 and it was authentic then they sold it for less than they paid for it most likely.

The vast majority of V2 tugboats don't have a copper post anymore either. And a dead giveaway is that your top cap and barrel are the same color. Authentics have a colored barrel and stainless cap. Sorry to say man. But 30$ isn't awful if it's a good clone and hits right. Which I'm assuming it does because I love my tugboats. Have fun man

Flawless is selling the v1 authentic for $35 on their site right now. Tempted to pick it up but worried about the leaking.

Okay, well is the v1 worth a purchase or should I just hold off til I'm ready to drop $89 on the v2? Also, does the v1 support single coil or is it dual only? $35 is a nice price for a well thought of authentic.
If it's a good 1:1 clone it's almost impossible to tell if it's the real deal or not. It really doesn't matter as long as you feel your $30 was well spent. I think it's too good of a deal to be authentic, but again, all that matters is performance in the long run. I just think it's shady that if it is a clone, somewhere down the line somebody lied and told somebody it was authentic. But on the other hand, if it is a clone, at least somebody didn't try to sell it at the price an authentic goes for. $30 for a solid atty that costs upwards of $75 is a pretty decent deal if you ask me, clone or not.

Flawless themselves said one of the only ways to tell is that besides the Tiffany blue one no V2 has a colored top cap they are all stainless steel. I'm not trying to piss in his Cheerios as I said before but he should at least know what he has.

Thanks to this thread, I just picked up a v1 in brass. I have one in brushed steel already, but this is too good to pass up!
serial # seems a little low for it to be authentic? who knows, just speculation.
After spending 90 on an authentic v2, I probably would just try to find a good clone if I bought another. As much as I like it, hard to justify that cost. Also, my center post (copper) is a bit mangled from the heavier gauge wire. had to put in a longer screw (1mm longer) to ensure good contact these days.
As someone said earlier, if it works, the price was right, and you like it, who cares? Only bummer is potential misrepresentation of the product.

Did they sell it to you as an authentic. It doesn't matter if your happy with your purchase and like the atty, I am just curious. I love the Tugboat attys. The v1 was one of my favroite attys for a long time, it never leaked. I love the v2 so much due to the afc.
Well you said it has AMod on the base. AMod is Wotofo, a Chinese clone maker. They have some original designs like the Freakshow and Troll, but the Tugboat ain't one of em..
