I am just wondering if it is possible to fit a Pockex coil onto the Nautilus X tank. I have installed the 1.5Ohm official coil for this tank but it only goes up to a recommended 20W max, which is a bit pants really. The Aspire Rover X30 mod goes up to max 30W. I have been running my 1.5ohm coil up to around 28 and I'm worried I'm burning out the coils by doing so and cause a big problem, like it exploding or something.

I have been using 30/70 juice and 80/20... The 30/70 was really good for vape but had to get up to around 28 for it to produce good cloud. The 80/20 is ok, more taste than anything.

Please could anyone let me know if it is dangerous to fit this 0.5 Sub OHM coil onto my Aspire Mod? I'd rather have higher wattage than low, it is my first real mod so I would prefer something bigger eventually.

Thanks :) first post and hopefully lots more in future!

Um, IDK.. If it fits and works, that should tell you. You could also go to Aspire's website and see what they have to offer on mix and match. I'm just not that familiar with that setup.

Running coils over the recommended wattage MAY shorten their life, but there are also other factors involved. You also have the option to try a different atomizer completely on your mod, and it sounds like you are looking for maybe a more sub0hm experience I would probably recommend a Crown Uwell tank (original) it has a much greater range and flexibility of coil heads, some very restricted, others very sub0hm.

Good luck,

Anan

Hi - yes, the Pockex 0.6 coil definitely works in the Nautilus X - I've used it. The NX30 mod can go down to 0.2 ohms, so you're fine there.

I think the 0.6 coil is rated for up to 23W - not much more than the 1.5 coil. I've never used them at their limits, so I can't really comment. If it gets too warm, there's an extension for the tank which may cool things down a bit.

HTH.

With just a 30 watt mod, you may have problems finding a sub-ohm tank that would be compatable from an ohm/wattage perspective. The Crown does offer two coils that can be used at 30 watts or less.

Although technically it is a sub-ohm tank, the original Crown also offers 1.2 ohm coils for those who do not sub-ohm. Coils available are:

1.2 ohm Single Stainless Steel Uwell Crown Coil - 10 to 30W
0.5 ohm
Dual Stainless Steel Uwell Crown Sub-Ohm Coil - 30 to 80W
0.25 ohm
Dual Stainless Steel Uwell Crown Sub-Ohm Coil - 80 to 120W
0.15 ohm
Dual Ni200 Nickel Uwell Crown Sub-Ohm Coil - 400 to 600 Degrees Fahrenheit (temp control)

What's the Crown like with the airflow closed? Is it restricted DL or loose MTL?

Just curious because it comes up a lot and i gather it has a >1 ohm coil.
On the Crown, with the airflow almost closed, it is more of a loose MTL I guess. One could change the default wide bore drip tip to a narrow bore drip tip of your choice for an even more restricted draw.

I showed the variety of coils and their recommented wattage ranges available for the original Crown in my previous post. Since the coils are stainless steel, they can be used in TC mode should you wish.

Thanks guys, this gave me a good understanding of what I need to do :) and happy to know that the Pockex works with my tank! I shall be doing that, I'd be happy going a bit over the recommended wattage, it should be fine, 25/27 id say shouldn't burn the coil. Update on my original coil... It did eventually burn out the cotton lol it was darkened, this was going 8watts over recommended [emoji3] anyway, crown coil looks cool I'll see if my local vape shop has one I can test

Thanks again :)
