Hello, today we are going to take a look at the Proteus Mini E-Hookah Head sent to me by Aspire. I will go through each of the features that distinguish this item in this Test. I hope that by the end of this reading you will have understood this product, and therefore decide whether to invest in it or not. As always, my opinions are free and based on my personal experience.

The rigid cardboard packaging has generous dimensions and this suggests a rather large device inside. On the front of the box you can see; the Aspire logo, some icons containing advice on the type of E-liquid to use, the image of the Proteus Mini and the words "Proteus Mini E-hookah Head". On the back of the package you can see; The packing list, warnings, manufacturer support addresses, batch number, color indications, barcode, logos and legal marks. On the side profile of the package there are; the words "Proteus Mini E-hookah Head" and the main features in the form of icons.

► Aspire Proteus Mini; Introduction:
The idea of combining a vaporizer with a Hookah container is not new in the world of vaping, in fact the project of such a combination dates back to 2015 and always by ASPIRE which has always proven to be innovative in the world of Vaping. In 2023 the "Proteus" project returns with the "Proteus Neo" having a tank capacity of 20ml and a gigantic battery, a year later and we are today; the new Proteus Mini 2024 appears more compact, but very similar in many aspects, both technical and stylistic to the Neo Proteus of 2023, which I had already tested and which I liked a lot.

The device that was sent to me for this test is "Pastel Blue". The cylindrical body of Proteus Mini is slightly flattened laterally where it also shows a striped texture for a better grip with the fingers. The frame is covered with a very smooth plastic layer that appears almost rubbery in reality its consistency is rigid, this surface offers a pleasant tactile feedback, however the device will not have to be handled for a long time to be used, but will simply have to be placed at the top of a common Hookah.

► Aspire Proteus Mini; 3,000mAh Battery:
Aspire Proteus Mini is powered by a generous 3,000mAh integrated battery rechargeable via a 2A USB type C port. The charging port is housed on a black plate that recalls the design of the front screen, on this plate there is the name of the device in silver characters. At the top near the tank there is a perimeter LED that lights up during use, in fact this is a signal LED for protection notifications but also for the battery charge level as follows:

• When you insert or extract the Tank the LED light lights up white
• Red Light; Charge between 0-30%. The battery level is displayed during activation and while charging.
• Blue light; Charge between 30-60%. The battery level is displayed during activation and while charging.
• Green light; Charge between 60-100%. The battery level is displayed during activation and while charging.
• When the device has reached 100% charge you can unplug the power cable and the LED light will flash green 3 times

► Aspire Proteus Mini; Operating guide:
The control panel of the proteus mini consists of a large black screen that incorporates a 0.96" TFT color display. The larger button allows you to adjust the brightness, and turn the Proteus Mini on/off. Below, with the two smaller buttons you can adjust the power from 5 to 80W in 1W steps at a time. The buttons are of good quality, slightly protruding and with a metallic finish. The display contains all the main vaping data, the fonts are small but easy to read, the remaining battery level is easily readable, as is the puff count. The screen also indicates the ohmic value of the coil. The vapor is produced simply by inhaling.

► Aspire Proteus Mini; The ASP chipset offers all the necessary measures for safe vaping:
• Over-time protection (8s): The screen shows the writing OVER TIME 8s
• Open Circuit protection: The screen shows the writing CHECK ATOMIZER
• Short circuit protection: The screen displays ATOMIZER SHORT
• Low voltage protection: The screen displays LOW BATTERY
• Low resistance protection: The screen displays LOW RES
• Overcharge protection: When the device reaches 100% the device stops charging
• Overheat protection: The screen displays TOO HOT
• Abnormal charge protection: The screen displays CHECK USB

► Aspire Proteus Mini; Hookah:
In the Proteus Mini package there is a rubber fitting with different sizes compared to the one pre-installed on the bottom, this is to allow the device to adapt perfectly to most of the Hookah Kits available on the market. In the lower part of Proteus Mini you can insert one of these adapters depending on the type of Hookah you will use.

The pod compartment has a metal ring inside held in place by 4 screws, the metal ring provides the magnetism needed to firmly hold the tank in the correct position. In the center there are the two contact pins, while the sensor for the automatic puff is well hidden, protected from condensation. A necessary precaution is to occasionally clean the compartment/tank from possible condensation residues, the operation is easy and quick considering the enormous space available to effectively rub the absorbent cloth. The tank has 4 powerful magnets on the bottom, and is supplied with a sticker positioned on the coil to avoid accidental activations during storage before purchase. Of course, the sticker must be removed before using the Proteus Mini for the first time.

► Aspire Proteus Mini; 10ml Tank:
The upper part of the Proteus Mini tank uses an adjustable airflow control system via a rotating wheel. Then you can adjust the two slots by turning the wheel either to the right or to the left. The tank offers a capacity of 10ml with a side filling system protected by a silicone rubber. You are not obliged to fill the Tank completely, you can introduce into the tank even just a few ml of liquid and you will not run the risk of taking dry puffs. When you change liquid you can wash the tank by removing the coil. The Proteus Meshed Coil 0.25Ω (Pre-installed) is inserted into the Tank with a simple pressure, the maximum power achievable by Proteus Mini with the 0.17Ω coil (purchased separately) is about 80W. Currently these are the only two coils available for Proteus Neo & Proteus Mini. Aspire recommends the use of E-liquid VG-PG 70/30 for these Coils.

► Aspire Proteus Mini; Final conclusions:
For this Test I used the same Hookah that I had previously used during the Proteus Neo test. And through the almost 180 centimeters of tube of my Hookah I could notice that the aromatic performance of Proteus Mini does not disperse, and remains at the same high levels of the previous Proteus Neo. Incredibly, the amount of vapor that comes out of this long tube is more than abundant and the flavor is absolutely in line with the average of the pre-assembled head vaporizers that I usually use for DL / RDL vaping. Aspire Proteus Mini offers the right balance between aromatic yield and vapor production. Certainly the vapor after such a long journey in the tube does not arrive hot in the mouth, it arrives rather cool, however for some this could even be another point in favor of Proteus Mini. The airflow system is usable without interruptions in vaping and can be adjusted widely for DL, but also narrow enough to get a contrasted RDL draw. The 3.0000Mah battery manages vaping at medium power for a long time allowing you to spend nice evenings with friends or family, enjoy!
