Im I missing something? Seems there are only two coil choices... 1.5 ohm or 1.8 ohm. Not much difference in resistance, so is there another difference? Coil material, design, wicking, airflow? Also, I keep seeing people call the nautilus X a "sub-ohm tank" Where's the sub-ohm coil for it? I've tried my 0.6 ohm PockeX coils and seemed to work but actually had issues (airflow?)

tempting but too easy

Sub ohm is frequently just another way of saying “DL”. With tricks it is possible to MTL on sub ohm coils and DL on +ohm coils.

Yes, it's called airflow control. The one thing I do like about this tank is adjustable top airflow (it's hard to turn but I like that it stays adjusted where you set it) I do loose MTL. Funny that Aspire offers a 0.6 ohm coil for the PockeX (AIO device) that doesn't even have adjustable airflow. They both use very similar "u-tech" coils, but there is a slight difference so they are not interchangeable... same with the Breeze devices... too bad aspire did this. Even the breeze "pod" uses a 0.6 ohm coil.
Anyone have a preference between the 1.5 and 1.8 coils?

Often but not always true. Less true with coil cartridges because they have so much less cotton. Low airflow may cause burning. Surface area of the heating element is often just as or more important

I just staggered into this Thread so (lol)
Don't know how relevant this is (since I use the Original Nautilus, not yet into Sub - Ohm stuff) but I use and like the 1.8 Ohm because I can use it both on my Provari and my GV Aegis Solo (which I just received).
I seem to remember something about the Provari not being able to use S/O Coil stuffs (wasn't sure about the 1.5 at the time) and the 1.8 seemed like a good balance so I wasn't having to change Coils or use a different Tank.
I can't imagine that there would be a huge difference btween the 1.5 and the 1.8 though.

Ya, the name is misleading, not sure why it was called that. It's only those coils you listed.

The .6 pocke coil had issues for me and others too. It just doesn't wick enough. I also don't care for the 1.5 coil for similar reasons. But I LOVE the 1.8 coil. I highly recommend it, and it's actually my favorite coil of all time to get a tight MTL. The other 2 are sadly trash though.

When the Nauti X first came out, the 1.5 coils were included in the box. At best, I found them to be barely tolerable. I set the kits aside as a sad purchase.

When the 1.8 coils came out, they were magic--great flavor, didn't get hot, birds singing and rainbows. I don't know why there was such a difference, but I heard similar feedback from other Nauti X users. This is now my main factory coil tank.

If you want to try building, the Berserker mini is also a good tank for me with clapton wire coils and rayon wick.

drysprocket, finally a helpful answer. I have noticed many others say they like the 1.8 ohm coil better... now I know why (and yes, had issues with the PockeX 0.6 ohm coil wicking) It's all good, my other tank is Innokin T-20S and uses a 1.5 or 0.8 coil (I've stocked up on the 0.8 so no need for another tank with a "sub-ohm" coil anyway. BTW, I got the Nautilus X tank with the "Quad Flex" survival kit and it can be used as the tank for a RDTA but that's a bit much for my style right now... sure, I'll give it a go some day, but just need another functional tank for now.

cats5365, mine did come with a single 1.5 ohm coil... it was OK, but not impressive. So another vote for the 1.8 :D
I have another thread about MTL RTAs. Hopefully, these will be the last drop in coils I have to buy. I also need a better mod for the RDA, but I'm getting way off topic. Thank you all... even bombastinator :thumb:

My juices are mostly 65VG/35PH, but I also do DIY so can make what I want. Actually, I have some 70-75 VG juices that are 6 mg nic (I like 12 mg) so I just add my PG with nic and problem solved ;) Personally, 50/50 is too thin for me. (I also do "primer puffs" between vapes... keeps those coils saturated)
