I have been using these coils with my tank for years. But the last shipment I got must have gotten skipped on quality control. We have been going through these like underwear. They start to turn black really quick and then lack no flavor after a week of mild/moderate use. We have not changed liquids, have been using the same liquid with these brand of heads for years. Is there another alternative??? Please help!

A neighbor has had problems with them, too. Many of the boxes that he got say they're the 1.8ohm that he ordered, but they all test out at 1.6ohm. Also, lots of them aren't lasting like they used to either. His ARE all authentic Aspire Nautilus coils.

You could've gotten clone coils though. I know for certain that at least 1 vendor in the US is selling them. They used to not state that they were clones. However, in about the last year or so, they've changed that, and do say they're clones. But you've got to take the time to look in their description on their website to even notice it.

so how would I know if they were clones? I looked at the coils and they all have aspire on them.

@rachpreach - The Zenith tanks are made by Innokin. They make several variations of the Zenith, and they all use the Innokin Z-Coils. The Zenith tanks and the Z-coils all have a terrific reputation and are very popular. The Zenith original 24mm 4ml tank and the Zenith D22 3ml 22mm tank have been my all-time favorite tanks since they came out. The 1.6ohm Z-coils I use give me wonderful flavor and last 18-24 days each now. I vape between 10-12mL per day, so that's a lot of eliquid through each coil.

Yes, Zenith is a tank. Don't have one myself so I can't comment on them.

I used Nautilus for a long time. Just recently packed up the last one. They were great in their day but now they seem a little puny to me. I got tired of changing coils all the time as well, they don't last very long. I don't know if the quality of coils has gone down. I did get some clones once, when they worked they were as good as the real thing but there were more duds. As far as I know the only way to tell if you have clones is to check the sticker on the box. It's a scratch off I think. It shows a number. You can go to their site and key in the number. Real ones are unique, clones you will see that the number has been keyed in multiple times.

You can do an authenticity check on them at the Aspire site below. Go to the bottom section of the page, see which type of sticker/code is on your boxes and just input the info asked for. Then click Check. It'll tell you if what you have are genuine Aspire products or not.

Aspire Product Verification - Aspire® Official Site

ETA: Oops! My internet is slower than most people have, so I was typing my answer to you and getting the link above, not knowing that @englishmick had already given the info in his post. :)

As a long term Nautilus user sorry to hear about your problem. In six years I have only had one duff packet of coils ... and that from a local B&M who is a branch of a major UK chain.

Now I only buy mine from a trusted UK Mail Order Supplier - "Coils Direct."

All that said, it doesn't help you, but I also use an Innokin Zenith, and Innokin Zlide ( both tanks) and Innokin Sceptre pods and can recommend any of these. They all provide a satisfying MTL vape, the coils on the Zeniths and Zlides are dead easy to change, and as I use clear 16 strength liquid at 8 watts I get at least six weeks from a coil - actually the same as I get from Nautilus coils.

I've been using nautilus coils since their introduction. Some of the authentic and clones have the cotton too tight. My remedy is to find the holes on the coil and fluff them with a needle/pin etc. Just a little fluffing would work. Try it you have nothing to lose. Let the liquid soak for about 10 minutes in the tank and start at a low wattage setting.

Since we both live in Florida, where do get your coils @JCinFLA ?

I've gotten nearly all of them from LightFire Distribution/Kanger Wholesale USA. They consistently have had the lowest price on them @ only $6.10/box of 5. Other vendors want $8.99-$12.99 and up for them.

LF/KW used to have Free S/H with a $75 or more order, but they've stopped that in the last couple months. Ordering 13 boxes of the Z-coils would always meet that $75. Now, IIRC, their lowest S/H is $9.99, so I'd get as many as you could in 1 order. Even if you get just 10 boxes, that's only $1 per box for S/H = $7.70/box = still less than other vendors. They ship FAST, too!
