My Joye 510 has no name on it. I had to find the name on tue paperwork that it came with. Joye invented the 510 model, it is theirs. It goes back to marketing, and copyright. I don't know how old you are, but do you remember the x86 models from Intel? (286, 386, 486........) well you can't copyright a number. So everybody now calls their models 510. But what it really means is that they all share the same threading, so ANY device that is 510 compatible, works with anything that is 510 compatible. Hope that helps.
Oh and on a side note, my wife is now vaping too, and her biggest question to me when I was buying one was "will it last for the whole show?" we have tickets to see Furthur next month in Charleston, and she was worried that the batteries would die right in the middle of the show, and she would be jonsing!

Technically a 510 is a 510 because all it refers to is the threading. There are some vendors like Totally Wicked who have permission to rebrand 510 and eGo hardware under their own name, but it's still the same 510 threading. Our eGo batteries don't have any name on them, either. It's just the silver band with the standard plastic button and that's the only thing on the outside that distinguishes them from Riva 510 batteries.

After you've been vaping for awhile, and collected a variety of batteries, different kinds of attys, cartos, driptips, different set-ups, etc: it is RARE that you will be using a battery that came with a particular atty.

Yes you may own the more expensive atty for your favorite after dinner vape, or your special mod.
Yes you may own both pieces that came with a kit, or you may only buy from "store A"

but after a bit of spending, and seeing sales, and stocking up, things dying, replacing, losing, finding, etc etc.. it all gets kinda jumbled up.. and you may find that the latest sale prices matter more than 'name' brand, especially when thinking about having a supply, and not which brand is better.

A LR atty may be a different vape than a regular atty.. but I honestly couldn't tell you what brand ANY of my pieces are anymore!

interesting that you mention that some companies can 'brand ' a product, My 510 does have the alien/devil head on it from totally Wicked ? what does that mean? that Joye gave them permission to put their logo on it ?

Yep. It's a joye re-branded into a "Titan"

(same goes for their ego/Tornado)
