It really depends on the thickness of your liquid and the dropper tip from which you drip drops. The best way I have found is to use a marked measuring device.
Syringes, graduated cylinders and pipette pumps give accurate measurements. Like these: Measuring Equipment - One Stop DIY Shop Store

Edit: you can get a syringe for change at a local pharmacy. Even a childrens dosage syringe with no needle will give you accurate measurements and no need to ask for a syringe. You can also purchase the syringe without a needle. They are sold separate.

I have a lot of stuff coming on Monday and Wednesday to make my own. I will get a more accurate measurement then. As of now I am vaping a PG mixture of 24 mg Marlbro from cignot. 20 may be close enough of a measure. I haven't hardly put a dent in this 20 ml bottle. But this morning at 8am, I filled my cart. 11 and a half hours later I refilled my cart. It took 11 drops. I will refill tonight before bed to see how many drops I have vaped and add to the 11. But it should be approximately 4 more. Perhaps when I get my flavors in, I will vape more. I don't really like this flavor, now that I am starting to be able to taste it. LOL

Very useful thread. Was wondering the same thing myself. 20 drops to an ml seems high though, I mean the droppers on some of those bottles seem pretty big. But wikipedia gave the same answer... heavy into the VG myself, but only been smoking cartomizers from PrimeVapor so far (yummy flavors btw, I recommend morning brew or strawberry lemonade). Would like to try to recreate those flavors. I think I read somewhere that VG liquid is thicker and harder to drop? can anyone confirm that?

I can confirm that for sure! VG is much thicker, and will not absorb into your cart near as well. But the extra work leads to extra eSmoke. (I make these words up as I go along). It does seem to leave the cart in a steady flow, but it is a much thicker liquid. You can cut the liquid thickness with distilled water, still getting the eSmoke, and less Throat Hit. Or at least I think I read that. Makes it soak into the cart easier. I bought some VG from a health store. I cut it with 25% water, and it seemed to help so much. Still had lots of vapor production, almost no throat hit. But, I combined that with my PG, and it obviously reduced my nic of 24 mg way down. I think my final solution was around 6 mg. Just was trying to get a throat hit my wife could handle. Will get the nic up when I get my supplies by Wednesday.

Yes, the major problem here is the viscosity of each and every liquid. They can all be dripped from the same dropper and give completely different measures. Vg is soooo much thicker, pg runs close to water, and then you have your flavorings that seem to run thinner than pg, alomost like water. When you add a nicotine solution suspended in pg or vg is when the real measurements begin.
If you are trying to get a grasp as to how much you are vaping per day, the best bet is to vape one flavor for the day. Put it in a bottle that you have marked.
1ml, 2ml, 3ml, 4ml, 5ml. Use a marker and cover it with tape. At the end of the day you will have a good idea within reason of where your intake levels are placed.
These levels will change based on e-cig/atomizer used. Some atomizers burn hotter and you will use more liquid and vice-versa.
If you do the above, use the same device throughout the day.

Added: when using water, you should use distilled.

Ok guru's; others...who knows this ?
how many units in a ml ?
only syringes I could get at the time were for insulin
says 1cc..28 gauge x 1/2" length
has markings in 5's up to 100
I broke the needle off one to use for measuring while mixing
haven't found a ml to unit conversion table
any help would be appreciated

Syringes for insulin users are designed for standard U-100 insulin. The dilution of insulin is such that 1 ml of insulin fluid has 100 standard "units" of insulin.

Umm... not sure I understand... what "unit" of measure are you talking about. You mention cc, and 1 cc equals 1 ml. If that is the case, your 5's would be 1/20th of a mil, or .05 mil or 5% of a mil if my calculations are correct.

Hope this helps.

I've been trying to do the math. Which makes me think ..we'll i'm WAY OVER my analog nic per day without the same satisfaction. Unfortunately, analogs are more effective with other chemicals in it.

If 1ml = 20 drops
If 1cig light =0.6mg

0.6 x 20 = 12mg per pack

I'm using 24mg juice, which means 10 drops I would get same nic per day as a pack of my analog lights.

I drip 3 drops on the atty each time and it's good for 10 puffs. That's about 30 puffs per day.
In reality I'd probably go over 30 puffs in the first hour when I wake up and sometimes still need more nic.

This may be the same theory suppliers use when they say 1 cartridge = xx pack of cigarettes. We all know that 1 cart doesn't last that long.

edit: read about 40% absorbtion... okay.. vape on! :)

now..thanks for your replies but...
I just took a 3 ml sample bottle and it took 600 units
to tranfer it to another bottle, 6 full 100 unit needle-fulls
so - 2 - 100 units of insulin = 1 ml
not exact of course, but a rough idea..
just thought there would be a conversion table out there :)
drops vary too much, and I won't even get into nic levels,
how much absorbed thru vaping vs. burning ???
