Advice for getting through the workday?

I just started vaping Saturday morning and have not wanted to smoke since (PAD Newports for decades.) So I'm very happy!

The workdays are tough, though. My old habit was to leave at lunch and smoke one cigarette. I'd get a little antsy around eleven-thirty or so, but could wait until noon. Then I was all right until I left work about 3:45, but would smoke right after.

With vaping I notice that I am REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE by eleven in the morning. I can't vape anywhere at work, so I have taken two breaks during the day Mon and Tues, but I can't make a habit of that. :(

I am vaping 24 mg nicotine. It just doesn't seem to stay in my system as long as smoking, or something. Should I buy a bottle of the really high nicotine concentration for the lunch smoke? Would it stay with me longer, or just be stronger for the short amount of time? I don't have many minutes on my break to vape.

Any suggestions welcome. I am thinking about maybe getting some nicotine gum to get me over the 11:00 hurdle, but I hate the taste of it.

As others have said try it in the bathroom. Also 24mg is very high nic content. What are you using for device/juice? It does take some time to adjust to the cravings and maybe try different juices or adjust your set up to where you feel more satisfied. Take your time breathe (or vape). You will find your happy medium. :vapor:
 
I'm using an eGo Twist and 2.5ohm Vivi Nova tank. I'm fine with it most all the time except the middle of the workday when I only have a few minutes to vape, and I have to wait four hours to do it!

I guess I will try the bathroom. I wanted to avoid that, since I know they don't want me to do it (it's a school) but I suppose it's better than taking two breaks, and maybe I can ease out of it over time.

You could always try a 36mg juice and have a separate clearo for it just for that time and try that.

Also, try taking longer and deeper drags. Hold the vape in your mouth for a second, then inhale(if you are taking lung hits) and then exhale out your nose.

Nicotine in vape enters your bloodstream at lower levels and slower than in smoke, so the longer it is in your body, the more nic you will absorb.

I would personally look at your vaping technique before you try a different level, or vape in the bathroom.

Just my 2 cents.

I'm not sure what your situation is, but I'm in a cubicle and stealth vape all day until it's late and no ones around and I'll blow a cloud or three. I'll also say, my co workers know I vape, but it was broken in slowly... A bottle of juice or a batter they seen on my desk, and it progressed from there. That's not a bad approach. Once and awhile my boss will get a whiff of chocolate or something fruity and ask if it's me. If it's put forth as something that's no big deal, it will be no big deal. If it's put forth as "I vape and blow clouds", your asking for resistance.
I'll also say..... I've had three hour 20 people meetings with the CEO present... And a 'slightly chocolate flavored' cup of coffee gets me through just fine....

I would personally look at your vaping technique before you try a different level, or vape in the bathroom.
Because of the unique circumstances, working at a school where you know your employers do not want you vaping,* I'm inclined to agree with Jayvaps: Try to make other adjustments (e.g. to your technique, to your nic level, supplementing with a patch) before vaping in violation of the school's policy in a campus bathroom. I think vaping is great, and I'm really glad you have kicked smoking, but I don't want you to risk losing your job if you don't have to. :)






* I assume you've explicitly asked the school's permission. If you haven't explicitly asked permission, I think you should ask, and be prepared in advance with educational information to present a positive case. Explain that this is a harm reduction practice in which you are engaging and that it has helped you to quit smoking, etc.

If you're in a public bathroom might be a bit more difficult.

Take big, long drags, don't suck on your clearo too hard, just barely. I take 5-7 second drags (something I had to get used to. Taking a fat long drag on a cigarette would result in a massive nic-sick coughing fit for me lol).

Hold it in and exhale through the nose (like someone above me said.) Or exhale through both mouth and nose like I do. Tastes amazing!

I'd try for an atomizer that delivers nic better, something like the Aspire BDC, or just going down to an 1.8 ohm coil head. When I use an ego, tried 36mg nic once, kick my asz, way to much nic. But seriously if having some helps by all means, and as long as you are continuing to cut down on smokes, having an occasional one should never discourage you. Just try some different attys and or juice till you find something that is totally satisfying. You'll get there, I am sure of it. Just a matter of trial and error.
