It happens ... lesson learned :)

If it was just a quick hit, you might try letting the head soak for a bit and vape it again at less power. If the wicking isn't singed, which may well be the case, you might find it just fine.

Good luck with it :thumb:

That's happened to just about everyone once. Toss ans replace the coil. Trying to resurrect a factory coil after burning it never quite works, at least for me.
I burnt a smok coil not too long ago, no idea how but i've reinstalled that same coil into the tank and oddly enough had no burnt taste..... It was sitting in paper towels in a closed off space though, but burned marks were completely gone.

I popped the coil out and it was completely black in the middle.

I've never been able to bring a smok coil back to life. Also haven't touched a smok tank since my tfv4 mini. Great tank when I could stop the leaking. That's what stopped me from buying any of the new tanks from them.

I've never had a Smok tank leak on me. I've only got two: both Baby Beasts. Never had Kanger later than the original Protank leak on me, either. I've been using Kanger toppers since 2013 with very few problems.

I burned my first coil BEFORE even owning anything. The day I was buying my starter Smok Stick V8 to quit stinkies he told me to click it 5 times to turn it on. So I did. Then I played with it and hit the fire button and smoke! He replaced the cotton fried coil before I bought the mod lol. Haven't burned a coil since actually starting vaping the 2 months since.:p

FWIW 7 Baby Beast Tanks so far (2 passed on to a friend with the 2 V8s), zero leak issues 60 days and counting.

Funny thing is i have no idea how it dosen't taste burnt,i didn't try to save it either just thought i'd show it to the guys at my vape shop see if they could give me a new one lol. Happened to check it out the other day and it seemed fine so.... I just went for it and no burnt or dry hits. Guess i'm lucky. Had 1 leak on my big baby but that was my own stupidity that caused it, so no issues there.

I had a tfv4 that I'm pretty sure came off the very first run. Never had a leak. EVER. I mean I used 80/20 or higher juice so that might be why.

My tfv12 only leaked when I first primed it cause I over prime EVERYTHING. (Paranoid about dry hitting a stock cool tank). But yeah I've hardly heard of any of them leaking till I joined Ecf here.

FWIW I'm running 30/70 vg/pg and still no leaks BBB tanks. Also some coils more prone to leak than others, Q2 a bit but didn't like it anyway, T8 octuple's nope.
Personally i'm more of a .4-.6 0hm kinda guy i was myself aiming at checking out the Q2 for my big baby. Then again idk might stick with my trusty Fat Scylla since i can get temp control coils for it.

Those 0.4 ohm Q2 coils (that's them, right? Smok confuses the hell out of me with their coil naming) are actually decent factory coils. Not nearly as thirsty or power consuming as those 12 wire 0.15 ohm ones they have. They provide really nice flavor after a break in of about 1/4-1/2 a tank on a fresh coil.

I killed a coil by not checking the specs on my Steampunk, LOL. I was trying to turn down my wattage from 7 to 6.5.

The Steampunk only goes down to 7 watts.... My pushing on the down button caused it to jump to 200 watts, which I guess is its *UPPER LIMIT*. That was an unpleasant vape. To put it mildly.

Lesson learned, and no I didn't try to resurrect that coil. I may be the only Steampunk user in existence to find that one out the HARD way, I'm doubting that there are many people trying to vape their Steampunk at 6 watts.... But seriously.... That thing is awesome :)

Better luck next time, you'll remember, I certainly have :)

I'm glad I didn't hit my mine at it's max wattage. I might of passed out at 400watts.

Whoa NOT a good feature, scrolling past the minimum back to the top!

Yes, it was an unexpected feature, and not a good one, perhaps another fatal steampunk flaw? Well, it did kill a coil....

If it helps, Olderthandirt pointed out that since I have no exp. with Smok products I shouldn't say bad stuff about them. :) So maybe the Steampunk wanted to reveal another imperfection of its own that I can talk about instead of Smok?? :D No more smok talk from me....
