Meaning this one:

Is there a way to get the coil head out. I could try to rebuild it but I'm not sure whether you can take the head out. It certainly doesn't seem to budge using only the fingers and I don't want to force it with any tools in case it is actually welded on.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Yes that is what I eventually discovered... you can replace the heads but they're welded to the base so effectively you are replacing coil head and base in one piece. That said, and I've been thinking about this , if you can pull out the bottom pin and the chimney on the head itself I bet it's still possible to rebuild the coil. I'll wait till I have one that is totally thrashed and try it.

Looking forward to hearing how this works out!
These are bottom coils so there should be no problems with leakages.

However there is a problem. I am able to disassemble the top and bottom pin, grommet and coil from the base. The coil is easily rebuilt - but after that is where you hit the stone wall. Even if you were to patiently re-insert the grommet and bottom pin (in itself an almost impossible job) there is no way to can get to the wires to cut them since the coil head is welded to the base. So obviously you will have shorts.
