    So I'm interested in using a 510 cartridge to see if I enjoy it enough to get into mods and such. I want to know if I need to use a 510 battery or can I use my evod battery?

    510 should fit 510; the evod is 510. Do you have a brand or link to cartridge in question?
    One of these?

    if so, these ego sleeves will hide your evod outer threads.

    I know it is the threading, what I'm asking is do I need the smaller voltage of the smaller batteries, or a higher VV battery? Or will my standard 1100mAh battery be okay?
    They use about the same voltage if I remember right; 3.7 volts will do you fine to try em out.

    the batteries are usually 3.7 volts.

    I think what you are asking is whether you can use a bigger (fatter) battery; the bigger "ego" 14mm batteries are also 3.7 volts.
    It that is the question, the answer is YES.
    You can put your little cigalike 510 thread cartridge on the big fat battery;
    the airflow could be a question though

    Your current battery will work, just get the same resistance as you would your regular clearos 1.5-2.0 ohms. Getting a VV battery will lessen the need for the range of ohms.

    The lower the ohms, the faster your battery will drain, but not by much with this set up.

    That's a nice looking set up. Coil should be easy to build.

    If you want my opinion on who might have good dripping 510 attys: avidvaper

    I believe 306 attys fit 510, those need a drip shield.
    Also, the instructions are a good read.

    Check out their specials
