Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I don't think its packed too tightly, and I THINK I've put plenty of liquid in. Anyway, I can drip and get good taste of my mint chocolate, but I only get a couple of good vapes on a full cart and then it tastes burnt. I'm pretty sure I've burnt out all of the primer, and the atty isn't flooding. I thought if it was flooded, there would be little to no vapor. I'm good on vapor production, as it looks heavier that most videos I've seen.

Either way, I just readjusted the filler, and maybe it will work better now.

When you get the burnt taste from an atomizer, it means the juice is not being wicked properly from the filler in the inner cart, causing the atomizer to be too dry.

I don't use atomizers or cartridges very often, but when I do, I just drip directly into the atomizer and use a drip tip (as a mouthpiece only, I take it off to drip) with NO cartridge. I have to drip 3 drops every couple of minutes, so it's a hassle and is why I don't use an atty very often -- and use cartomizers most of the time.

pretty new myself but check the alignment of the cart to the atty. If you look into the atty with the cart removed you can see two flat sides similar in shape to the two flats on the side of the cart. Try lining them up. I have also found a slower draw wicks better. If you can audibly hear the air "sucking" in while you draw you are trying to get too much. too much air will cool the heating coil in the atty and result in not as much vapor or flavor.

You may want to give cartomizers a try. A lot of people think the CE2 Cartomizers are great, but I've also heard that they can be inconsistent. A lot of people like the plain 510 cartomizers. I vaped pretty heavily when I started, and I would flat out vape faster than the filler material could wick. I tried using the Marineland aquarium foam, Size U, and it does do a better job of wicking. Once I started dripping though, the flavor was too good to go back.

If you find you like dripping you may be interested in looking at the vape Mate from Super T Manufacturing.

Yeah, carts do not give many good hits then you have to top off. Just the reality of them. Why many people use cartomizers instead.

I have been messing with them the last couple of days. I pulled out 1/3 of the filler - better, IMO.

I just tried the ink pen spring mod today. It is fine, but about the same as simply taking out some filler, it seems to me. But anything you do is likely better than the the cart right out of the box...

The only way I've been able to use carts, is by using the Lipton Pyramid teabag mod(shredded variation). Other than that, the original polyfill, fluval pads, and blue foam never seemed to wick that much differently to me. I've since switched to LR cartomizers, and like others, drip when using atomizers.

If you are at all interested in the Pyramid tea bag mod, here's the vid I used:

I ran into the same problems you're experiencing. Carts are really kind of terrible, IMO. I've tried the straw mod with regular filler, which worked OK but still didn't provide enough vapes to make it not an equal pain in the .... to just direct dripping. After that I went to the 510 mega atomizer/carts, which lasted longer but had a huge propensity to leak all over the place - very delicate to how much you can fill them with.

From there I decided that convenience was king and went with a box mod. I picked up the reo mini a few weeks ago. It holds 3ml of juice, a 14500 battery and provides the same flavor you get from dripping with the convenience of the bottle. It fits into the palm of my hand (smaller than a cell phone), the battery lasts about 8 hours before vapor starts getting weak, and the juice bottle is good for at least a day or two. I very very highly recommend the reo mini or something similar if you are looking for something convenient enough to make analogs completely obsolete.

Hey! I was looking for you, Doc! You changed your name, Law Dog! *lol* I'm loving my eGo! Thanks again from your review post.

But, yeah, I was having issues too. Part of it was the juice blends I made (too thick), but I think my batch of blank carts where also a little overfull. Cutting off about 1/4 (lengthwise) seemed to help. I made sure I blew away any little tiny cuttings left stuck to the filler - in to be on the safe side.

I got a lot more familiar with dripping during the troubleshooting period. I'm sure I'll eventually follow MistressNomad's lead (You make great vids, by the way! Very informative!), but I'm just starting the honeymoon tinkering stage *lol* (My husband says the reason this works so well at keeping us off the analogs is because we spend all our time reading, researching and tinkering *lol*)
