I have been making my juice 50/50 from the beginning about 3 years. I can't remember my initial reasoning. Every atty I have leaks to one extent or another. It's about time to make up another 500 ml of juice. I was thinking about making it 70/30 hoping the thicker juice will stop leaking. Any advice?

I used 50/50 initially when I first quit smoking and was using tight MTL drop in tanks. But as soon as I moved to RTAs I went to 70vg/30pg. It gave me a lot less throat hit, which I preffered, plus more vapour density.

Try a small batch at first, as your flavours may not carry through as well as they did with 50/50. If they taste normal - full steam ahead

I think, since you asked the question and all your attys are leaking, you should change absolutely nothing. It sounds like things are delightful exactly how they are.

Oh right that should be in green. Make 10 ml 30 pm 70 am (I shall end this PG/VG debate once and for all!) and see if it is better, or even good.

I mean what do you have to lose, exactly? I'm not sure I understand the question even.

Usually if things suck for me, I try to change them although I guess well, good job for asking the question and getting feedback first. I should potentially do that more.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I agree with others, start with a small batch, like 30-50ml or so. That should give you an idea if 70VG is what you're looking for or not.

Although I have never vaped anything thicker than 50VG, I am of the opinion that leaking will happen anyway. Although, it could be lessened by thicker juice, I suppose.

    But I could be wrong.

I’ve been 50/50 since I started, unless I accidentally bought some higher VG juice before I started DIY. Nothing leaks for me (unless I forget to close the top fill in my Zenith ;), and dump the whole tank on my hand, but that’s a different issue ). I find 50/50 better for coil longevity and flavor.

@https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/members/fiddleshe.175773/, If you like sweetness and lots of clouds choose a higher VG juice. If flavor is important to you, go with a higher PG juice. 50/50 is fine, but I like juice in the 70PG/30VG range because that's where I get the most flavor and still create enough vapor to equal a cigarette's smoke plume.

I did the max VG and water thing. I can't really vape more than 10% PG. I will say once I used PEG400 (also a flavor carrier) I found it improved flavor quite a lot. With just VG it's wasn't lack of flavor but they sort of changed to muddy somehow. PEG400 makes things taste crisper (to me.) Its also thinner than VG but not as thin as PG. I still get too many clouds but you do what you have to.

However, to each their own, really :)

I will say there are some expert vapers so skilled at vaping they could fill their tank with water and it wouldn't leak.

That is also not to say trying a higher VG mix may not help you with the leaking issue. It might. How much leakage are we talking and in what kind of tanks? If that has not been asked and answered.

Wicking properly (if it's an RTA) and maybe trying rayon if you haven't and checking even maybe replacing all the seals if you haven't might also be useful.

First... what tank? Drop-in coils or RTA?
I have been having issues with my RTA lately (very hot weather) It almost never leaks but recently giving me trouble (97 deg F) also closing the airflow when not vaping helps. My little MTL tank (drop-in coils) seems to like it (in cold weather I had to do "primer puffs" to keep the wick happy)
Please use the letters VG/PG... saves a lot of confusion.

I thought about the build, too...or the topper itself. It used to be read as PG/VG because PG carries the flavor better, but then people wanted clouds and it, more often than not, got written the other way because VG was the priority.

As to extreme heat or cold, I stand my mod up with the airflow open. The juice does not expand or contract that much. OR, just don't fill it more than 80%.

As to PG/VG or VG/PG, to each their own, there is cause for either way.

That too... filling all the way leaves no airspace (air expansion is more forgiving than liquid)
Sidenote: don't ever leave your vape in a hot car (bad for the battery too)

Anything more than 30% PG starts to taste chemical to me. The vast majority of RTAs have leaking problems to some extent, and they are more finicky when compared to any and all of my RDAs. I own a whole bucket full of RDAs, all of them are authentic, and the vast majority are expensive high end. That said, I don't get leaking with any one of my four Reload Vapor USA Reload RTAs, at least not if I take a few drags within minutes after I refill. In my own personal experience, the Reload RTA and the Deathwish Modz Isolation RTA are still the only RTAs that, flavor wise, hold a candle against the best performing flavor chasing RDAs such as the Kennedy 25 with the Stub Dogg drip tip, for example. I don't mean to be crass or anything, but over the past 3 years I have spent way more than a few thousand Euros on atomizers so I believe that I know what I am talking about here. Leakshows are not for me. Low wattage vaping mutes flavor, as does going with simple round wire or parallel round wire builds, and, the more people who have never done a fair comparison between all this and high wattage vaping on various decent complex coil builds, the more flavor keeps on getting muted.

For me, it's always been PG/VG. Early on 90pg/10vg was common among vendors, but it was all about recreating the small plume of smoke and the throat hit created by a tobacco cigarette. Then, cloud competitions came along and the high VG craze became popular.

I mix different ratios. Right now, I'm vaping 70pg. Sometimes, I mix 50/50. I hardly ever mix 90pg anymore.
