Would you pay a ~18% premium for 316 over 303? Talking attys here. My knee-jerk reply is yes, I would pay extra for 316 but then I wonder if the machining would be better using 303. Not saying 316 can't be cleanly machined (as in correctly machined, w/o excessive chattering, rough finish, etc.), but when considering a Chinese clone that sells for less than $20.00, I tend to lean towards a 303 atty having a better chance at cleaner machining, given the probable maintenance (or lack thereof) given to equipment producing cheap clones.

Thoughts?

There is no advantage to using 316 over 303 in an atomizer. The purpose of 316 stainless steel is increased high temperature corrosion resistance. The temperatures in e-cig atomizers will never approach the range where the use of 316 would be beneficial over 303 or 304.

I wouldn't. The 'L' version would have absolutely no affect on either appearance or performance.

To each his own.
I've seen some cruddy tanks due to the extreme juices.
A little more corrosion resistance is fine with me

I also notice less of the metallic flavor bite when everything gets hot

If I really had a choice I'd prefer titanium. I taste absolutely zero metallic undertones and have many driptips made from it, very neutral
