So I am looking for a local supplier for my diy sweetener, something I can buy on the cheap and mix with my own pg/vg to add to ejuice. I finally found this..

Popeye's Supplements Canada ~ Over 125 Locations Across Canada! - NOW Stevia Extract
(the link is where I finally found the stupid stuff after 3 days of searching.. if anyone needs it) *28g for about $11.00 plus tax* No shipping since i am picking it up from a local shop.)

Which, as stated is 100% pure, stevia extract.
This comes in a 28gram (aprox 1 US Ounce) with a 45mg (aprox 1/100th tsp) scoop (aprox 600 servings) *45mg x 22=1gram, x28 grams.* APROX! *I'll do the math when i mix*

Anyway.. how much do i use per 50ml (pg/vg) and how much of that would I use in my ejuice (as a % to approximate retail sweetness)

I'm not worried about "gunking up my coils" I have close to 1000 feet of assorted wire on its way here now.
*GAK... DRY HIT!*
Burnt socks...
Note to self.. when posting to forum, check wick before every hit.. after is to late..

I used to use stevia in my mixes, but only the liquid form. I see that they do have the liquid so I would go with that. The liquid is mixed with water (they don't say how much) and 11% alcohol. I guess you could mix the powder yourself, but it's so much easier just to use the pre-made liquid.

As to how much, that depends on how sweet you want it. Be very, very careful because it's extremely potent. I'd start off with 1 drop per 10ml (I think that's what I used to use ) and go from there. I read somewhere that 1 teaspoon (powder) is equivalent (in sweetness) to 1 cup of sugar.

I do use the powder form, but only in my tea and no longer use any in my mixes.

Good luck. ;)

yeah, I wanted to avoid the alcohol and water. I'll probably make a saturated vg solution, make the mix, add the sweetener and then add mix to it until i get what i like. Like start with 1 drop and add mix to that, and then I'll write down the ratio. I figured if someone already knew what ratio to use, it would be a better place to start. If worse comes to worse, I can always add vg, less flavor, but Ill have a better idea for next time.

There are a number of threads on other forums about using Liquid Stevia. That link above is to a powder? You will need to dilute/disolve it with PG. I think somewhere in the neighborhood of 1g powder to 9 or 10 grams of PG is what I read. Then you use 0.25 - 0.5% as a recipe sweetener. I bought the liquid stevia Pyure myself but have not made any new recipes that require sweetener since buying it.

You may need a little water to completely dissolve the powder. The KAL brand liquid stevia uses water and VG in theirs.
I'll look for that then. But I want one that I can get locally, like I do my pg/vg. I get it from the pharmacy. Pretty easy. They don't usually carry it in 500ml bottles, but they can get it. I just pay for it, they order it, 2 days later I pick it up.

Ok the 0.25 to 0.5% I understand. The 1g powder in 9 to 10g of liquid is a bit confusing. Is that 9 to 10 ml of liquid? The stuff i have ordered comes with a 45mg scoop, so roughly 22 scoops per gram.

Yes, PG weighs 1.036 g/ml. I believe it was 9:1 ratio of PG:Stevia since sucralose sweetener is usually 10%.

22 scoops per gram? Is the scoop tiny/microscopic?

You may want to consider a scale that can do 0.01g increments. It makes things like this and measuring recipes far easier, especially small tester recipes.

22 scoops per gram? Is the scoop tiny/microscopic? lol that is what I was thinking when i read the product details. 1mg is literally 1/1000th of a gram. I'm just making the ejuice for myself, and maybe for my brother and step mom, so i probably wont set up a lab. LOL I can see me now, in a white coat, thick glasses, hovering over a table full of chemicals, cackling maniacally... but yeah, the scale is a better solution if i can find one that is cheap enough to warrant spending the money on it.

I think the hard part is going to be figuring out how much stevia powder it takes to make 50ml of saturated stevia /pg/vg solution. Once I have that, I can start adding at 0.25%. Say something like 5 drops per 100ml juice and go from there. (there are 20 drops per 1 ml, 100 drops per tsp)

Thanks for the help on this one guys, it gives me a starting point. I think I will just use PG as a carrier, i mean, 5 drops of pg will not affect the end pg/vg ratio by much.

Yes, the scoop is that tiny.

My powdered stevia lists the weight as 100 grams (3.5oz). Serving size=1 scoop. Servings per container=2381.

Without a scale, mixing it accurately (or even close) is going to be tough. I've used the powdered form in my tea (32oz mug) for many years. 1 rounded scoop per mug. I can tell if I put in a "little" more or a "little" less than what I like. Of course, once you have it mixed up, you will be able to experiment as to how many drops per bottle suits you so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Let us know how it works out.

Will do. I think I will try a 50ml bottle of pure PG warm in the microwave, add the stevia and let it cool to room temperature, then drain off the pg solution, leaving the undissolved stevia in the bottle (then add more pg to this, until the rest of the stevia dissolves). I figure this will give me a saturated solution, and a fairly accurate base to measure from. After that, I'll go for the 0.25 to 0.5% addition to my juice. 1/4 ml solution to 100ml ejuice would be a decent start I think, and adjust from there.

Sounds like a plan. Although, I think I'd shake the heck out of it while it's warm to see it it will completely absorb into the PG.
I finally did find this..
Suggested use for eliquid: Dissolve 3 grams Stevia in 9ml of propylene glycol.

TIP: Warm the propylene glycol in the microwave (3 - 4 seconds), then add Stevia powder to the warm propylene glycol. Shake until cooled. Repeat process until completely dissolved. Diluted mixture can then be added to your liquid. Start with one or two drops per 6ml of liquid. Add more or less to suit your taste.

And that sounds about right. Sounds like the 28g bottle of powder will mix with 84/85 ml pg and probably last the rest of my life. LOL. That is like.. nearly 100x 50ml bottles of ejuice worth. (16 drops per 48ml)

Got my Stevia today. 28g at 3g per 9ml pg. This worked out to 84ml PG per 28g bottle of Stevia powder. However, it was a bit hard to get it totally mixed, so I would say use 85ml PG, just to make sure everything dissolves. It ended up making aprox 100ml (not quite, but close to it)of saturated stevia solution for e-juice. 1ml should sweeten 60ml e-liquid, but according to taste. Oh my god.. that is like 12x 500ml bottles of VG. lol.
