1.5 or 2.0 ohm OEM clearomizer coil heads .... can they handle much more than about 10 watts?

For you folks that are vaping on lets say one of the various models of Kanger Aerotanks or a Nautilus ... what is about the max watts you are powering these 1.5 or 2.0 ohm OEM coils?

I am using both a Kanger Aerotank Mini and a Mega. I use both the Kanger 1.5 and the 2.0 ohm dual coil heads in these clearomizers.

I have found that about 9.5 watts of power seems real nice without the vape (or the atomizer) getting too hot with these replaceable factory coils.

Example:

1.5 ohm factory coil head @ 3.8v = 9.5 watts

2.0 ohm factory coil head @ 4.4v = 9.5 watts

Just wondering how many watts you have been able to feed these pre-made factory coils without ruining the taste or burning up these fine-wire coils prematurely?

BTW ... were [not] talking about these replaceable coil heads that you have re-coiled yourself with some Kanthal.

they seem to handle whatever you throw at them pretty well (3.8 - 4.8v)~
i typically only use volts so do the math.. at 3.8 to 4.0 on a 1.5 dual coil. 3.8v i get decent vape but at 4.0v i get more flavor so i tend to stay at 4v. not much difference going any higher so i don't bother going above that on a 1.5 coil.

for 1.8 you should be fine up to 4.8v but i wouldn't go higher because while you might not get burnt taste, you will probably shorten its life.. so for 1.5 i'd stay at 4.0v or less and 4.8 or less for 1.8ohms would probably be the sweet spot for max flavor.

Maybe I just don't appreciate this super high watt / super low ohm vaping.

I also use an authentic Kayfun Lite Plus RBA, and I have tried many various different ohm coil builds and watts ... Even with the Kayfun, I keep coming back to building a 1.6 ohm single coil made with 28 AWG Kanthal and feeding it 10 watts (4.0v)

Just seems to get a really nice smooth and flavorful vape without excess heat ... and vapor production is fine (at least for me)

oh well ...

Hey Fit
I have two mods going now with 1.8 BVCs. On the Sigelei Zmax V5 (15 watts max.) I have it set at 11.5 watts and have run it up to 12.5 watts with no problems. On the Sigelei 20 Watt I'm at 12.8 watts (screen shows 4.80 volts). From others experience it seems the BVC 1.8 works well between 12.0 watts and 14.0 watts depending on juice. I've found the 12.8 to be good.

I also have a Billet Box with the redesigned BDC/BVC 2.1 ohm set at 5 volts. Been running that with clear menthol for going on two weeks.

And those numbers your Sigelei are giving you are really accurate:

A 1.8 ohm coil being fed 12.8 watts is in fact equal to 4.8v input.

Should be pulling right at 2.7 amps too

Maybe I will up the power a little above the 10 watts I am now using ... I was just wondering if these little OEM clearomizer coils can handle much more than 10 or 11 watts without getting too hot ... I guess they can :)

.... and thanks everyone for your input!
