Honestly guys, at this point there are a few versions floating around. I say just buy what works for you. For me it's the 1.5ohms 2 single slots (1 on each side)
Just got one from my b&m at 1.5ohm with the 4 holes. Vapes fine for me. Little funk taste first couple of pulls. Primed and now she vapes fine.

if you bought all versions and tried them all then it makes sense, but for me (new to kanger and dual coil setup) its confusing which to buy and buying all the versions to find which works best isn't practical, hence the questions being asked ;)

from what i can tell, obviously the two versions (without the wicks exposed, one version with one hole on each side and the other with two holes on each side) are more difficult to rebuild, but do they perform the same as the old version with wicks exposed? that's what i'm trying to figure out so i don't have to result buying all versions and rely more on those with more experience who have tried different versions. i don't necessarily care if they're harder to rebuild, but more interested if they perform the same.

it sucks that kanger keep changing the coils and it's appears they're doing it to try to keep people from rebuilding the coils, but are they also impacting the performance of the coils by making them harder to rebuild? or are they more interested in generally improving them? if they're real motive is just to make it harder for people to rebuilt them then IMO, all this does is encourage people to buy other brand coils/clearos that are easier to rebuild.

I don't have time to rebuild. If they start tasting burnt sometimes I give them a good rinse let dry. I will then do a dry burn and soak them over night, If they don't come back to life I toss them. When you can buy them for about 1.50 too much of a bother to mess with for me. I can see it as a fun hobby tho.

seebo, I understand it could be confusing. But what you have to understand is that no one will give the answer you want as far as which one is better. Some like the 2 holes, some like the exposed wick, some like the 4 holes, etc. The latest from the 1.5ohms is the 2 holes (1 on each side). It's all a matter of preference.

The last two places where I bought the 2.0 ohm coils with the two slots only carry the 1.8 ohm coils with the four small holes now. All of the local vape shops only have the 1.8s as well. Seems like the ones with the two slots are eol.

I bought a kayfun. I'm tired of dealing with kangers inconsistent coils.

Well, whatever version of the dual coil heads you buy, just make sure that it states that they are of the Protank 3 variety.

The dual coil heads for the Protank 2 will not work in a Protank 3, or any of the various Aerotanks.

I have tried all versions of the Kanger dual coils. I think the new versions (ones without exposed wick) give better flavor. I get mine from ali express i get 20 coils for $24 and free shipping. You can buy both versions there. I use Kanger tanks, the protank 2 and 3, Aerotank and Genitank. I rebuild the single coils with cotton. The dual coils r too difficult for me to rebuild.

Add me to the train that believes Kanger wants to prevent people from rebuilding their coils. There's no ifs, ands, or buts about it! They're a business, and businesses want to make money! How can they make money when folks can easily rebuild the same coil housing 1,000 times over?!

I bought an aerotank v2 and it came with the new 2 slot enclosed dual coils. They work fine, but after a week it was time to rebuild, and I discovered it is nigh impossible on these new coils. It takes pliers to get the chimney off, and even then, so what? How are you supposed to get a coil back in there and then put a wick through it?! Ain't happening.

So I quickly ordered a 5 pack of the older exposed wick dual coils, which are as easy as pie to rebuild, like the single coils for a protank. Chimney pops right off, and it's easy to set a coil in and wick it due to the slots that go all the way down both sides.

Nice try Kanger. I like your products, but I will be rebuilding these for years, saving a considerable amount of money, and not throwing away perfectly good coil housings to a landfill! :p

I don't believe they even think about it. I bet the percentage of people that do, or would even consider it is so small it can't be measured. The markup for coils is all the resellers. At 73 cents a piece my time is worth far more, hell even at the two bucks apiece a paid when I started it is not even close. The new design just flat works better and is more reliable.

That said, I see why some would want to do it and see how it might actually be fun.

im trying out the version with two holes on each side with wicks inside. im getting leaking out of the chimney which i think is why im getting juice on my battery and the connection between the tank and the mouth piece, lucky i haven't got juice in my mouth yet, but if i don't clean/wipe it on every refill eventually it probably will start coming up through the mouthpiece.

i don't remember experiencing this with the coil with the wicks exposed but maybe it's because i only tested it for a couple days.. i think it you pull too hard maybe that will cause more liquid to come up from the coil out the tube so i've been taking slower pulls to see if it helps.. i do recall someone mentioning if you remove the top tube (chimney) and put it little piece of cotton on top of the coil it helps stop liquid from coming up.

also, noticed when i flip the tank upside down to refill some juice comes out the top of the coil tube. im hoping a piece of cotton will help as this is pretty annoying.

In my experience now there is no comparison.

I bought a new Kanger ProTank 3 today which came with the exposed wick atomizers. I've been vaping on the invisible wick atomizers in my Evod for over a week now and they've been great. Firing up the ProTank with the exposed wick today the performance couldn't compare with my Evod with the invisible wick atomizer, not even close (and so was disappointed that my sweet new tank was giving really lame hits in comparison), so I swapped out the atomizers, putting the invisible wick from my Evod into the ProTank 3, and VAVOOOOM! Kicks a**....
No comparison. The new invisible wick variety are awesome.

They are cheap cheap. and you can get them in such a variety of resistances it just makes more sense to buy the kangers now. I have rebuilt the new versions with the closed in wicks although when i rebuilt them i did it with a single 28g coil instead of the stock duels. Vaped fine no gurgling etc. Takes a lil bit of work but its not that difficult after doing it a couple of times. But IMO at their pricepoint i will just buy them and toss em once they go turd.

The lastest coils aren't all that latest...
I just re wicked one with cotton.
Not that it matters only the latest coil tends to be very similar to the old style...
Snap off the chimney and where those 4 holes are is a "sleeve" it slides off as well.
Exposing the wicks and coils in parallel the lower coil is the tough one..

It's bizarre they've already had 2 revisions of the "Wickless" coils. The earliest had 2 holes close together on each side. Then they went to the slotted ones. Now back to 2 holes per side, but spaced farther apart on the side of the coil.

It would be nice if there was some more transparency from them about the reasons for these running changes. It's not because wick fibers are shooting out the side of the coil, the latest design does that too.

There are a lot of Kanger loyalists, myself included, but even I'm getting sick of this stuff and not knowing what I'm going to get in the mail when I order.

They've already screwed up the Subtank IMHO by making it 25mm. Hopefully the new BPDC design will get them closer to Aspire (Which isn't making anyone happy with their business practices either) in performance, and bring these legacy tanks (Like the Aero Mega, which is a well made, really nice looking piece of kit IMHO) some new life.

Vape on all.

I've not purchased from this seller but have communicated with them about their product. Based on our conversation I would place an order. I've not had problems with any coils purchased through AE.

20 pk Kanger upgraded dual coil

Be sure to indicate what resistance you want in the notes section during checkout. Usually you can say "10 1.8 coils and 10 1.5 coils" or what ever combination in lots of 5. If you forget, go into your order and send the seller a message.
