Don't ask me how it happened but I dropped my Mini (for the first time) the other day and the door's magnet popped out. I found it lying next to the door and put it back in but it's gone in the wrong way, so now when I slide the door up it repels the magnet on the actual reo. I'm having a hard time trying to pry it because it's flush with the door. How can I get it off? Would getting a larger magnet to suck it out work maybe?

Don't feel bad you are not the first to do that! Acetone/finger polish remover will loosen the glue if you used super glue. If you get the magnet off make sure before you glue it to put it against the other magnet. Take a marker and color the side that is facing you. That way you know to put the marked side against the door.

You are certainly not the first to do this. :)

Tap the door (magnet facing down) over a bowl, the magnet should pop out. Keep us posted. When you get it out and are ready to put the magnet back in...

place the magnet against the other magnet so they naturally attract each other. Mark the exposed side of the magnet. Then when you're ready to glue, place a small dot of glue in the magnet space, then place the magnet (marked side towards the door so you can't see the mark). This way, you won't accidentally flip the magnet.

Once upon a time, there didn't seem to be much in regards to the orientation of the magnets, as long as they matched up on the Reo that was sent out. I believe with exchanges of doors and repairs, etc., Rob started orienting them all the same way (thank goodness!!). Also, after a lot of use and some juice dribbling on the inside of the doors, the magnet can become dislodged. Anyway, I got a door with the magnet in the "wrong" way because my Reo was an earlier version. The Acetone trick worked but I had to use a large piece of wood to bang the door against (magnet side) before the magnet would pop out. You just want to hold the door by the non-magnet end with the magnet facing the wood and tap it over and over vigorously enough but not enough to bend it, and it will flip out... Then mark the magnet as instructed by both fine ladies above and a drop of super glue and you're good to go! :)

arghhh this sucksssss. So I marked as said, glued in place and guess what. it only works upside down. Meaning my REO magnets are oriented opposite one another so I needed to mark 1 & 2 cause they are position specific. just dams. Well I beat the heck out of this door and soaked in acetone. Magnets are still in there. Guess I shouldn't have used Vittoria Matik'one tubular glue. It keeps Lance's tires on, why not my REO door:) I hope none of you others find yourself on this thread:)

The best way to loosen the glue is with a soldering iron heat the magnet and then smack the back side of the door on something hard .
The heat will effect the magnets strength but its better then leaving a reversed polarity magnet in your mod .
I have drilled them out to but this is a deli kit procedure to much force and you will make a mess of things

So I should try to fix the mod as well as the door? Why is reduced magnetic strength better than reversed polarity?

nevermind, I re-read your post. I've got multiple doors, maybe that's why it came w/the extra doors. I wouldn't just leave the door flopping if I don't fix it. thx, I'll keep heating it and beating it!
